The 2013 ESPYS will be hosted by actor Jon Hamm, widely celebrated for his role as Don Draper on AMC's award-winning series Mad Men.

About halfway through Jim Brochu's Saturday, June 29 performance at the Metropolitan Room of his new show Character Man, I realized I was witnessing what was probably the best cabaret show I'd seen this year, and perhaps was one of the best in my almost three years of reviewing cabaret. By the time the show ended, I had changed my mind. Not because the show fell apart in the second half, but because what Jim Brochu had created (and is opening tonight at the Broward Stage Door Theatre in Coral Springs, Florida, where it will be performed until August 11) was more than a cabaret show. Character Man is a delightful, extremely well-crafted Off-Broadway theater piece that is destined for a run that might rival his critically-acclaimed one-man Zero Mostel tribute show, Zero Hour, which played throughout the country between 2006-2012 and earned Brochu 2010 Drama Desk and Helen Hayes Awards.

After over two years of sold-out performances, as well as acclaim from critics and audiences alike, It's Just Sex, Los Angeles' longest-running, award-winning comedy about partner-swapping couples, will finally come to New York City. Written by Jeff Gould and directed by Rick Shaw, It's Just Sex will begin an open-ended Off-Broadway run June 4th at the Actors Temple Theatre (339 West 47th Street, between 8th & 9th Avenues). Opening Night is set for Tuesday June 25th.

This morning, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 70th Annual Golden Globe(R) Awards. AMC's critically acclaimed, award-winning original dramas 'Breaking Bad,' and 'Mad Men' were honored with 3 nominations, the most in basic cable. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced this morning the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy(R) Award nominations, recognizing AMC with 34 nominations, the most for any basic cable network for the fifth year in a row, breaking the previous 29 nomination record for the network from 2011.
