Approaching the 1 year anniversary of moving into their new Brewery District space, it seemed an appropriate time for Shadowbox live to roll out a calm, laidback revue of the past year. However, much like their new edgy warehouse space, the "Best of Shadowbox Live 2012" serves not to relax and reflect, but to accelerate the talent machine that is Shadowbox Live to even higher levels of comedic and musical brilliance.

When you take on an iconoclastic production such as Jonathan Larson's RENT, you either have a whole lot of talent in your back pocket, or you are just plain ludicrous. Fortunately for Shadowbox Live, it was a case of the former that resulted in a fantastic opportunity to see this incredible story about Bohemians in Alphabet City, NYC struggling with life, love and AIDS, brought to life in local form.

The 2009-2010 MECCA awards presentation ceremony took place Monday November 29, 2010 at Theatre Ste. Catherine, 264 St. Catherine St. E. Hosted by actor Don Anderson, guest presenters included members of the Montreal theatre community, with performances by Dance Animal and spoken word artist Catherine Kidd.

The new Broadway production of George Bernard Shaw's play Mrs. Warren's Profession will star Tony Award winner Cherry Jones as 'Kitty Warren' & Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins making her Broadway debut as 'Vivie Warren.' The production will be directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd St). The cast will also feature Adam Driver as 'Frank Gardner', Mark Harelik as 'Sir George Crofts', Edward Hibbert as 'Mr. Praed' & Michael Siberry as 'Reverend Samuel Gardner'.

Tickets for the upcoming Broadway production of George Bernard Shaw's play Mrs. Warren's Profession go on sale to the general public on July 30. The production, to be produced by the Roundabout Theatre Company, will star Tony® Award winner Cherry Jones as Kitty Warren and Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins making her Broadway debut as Vivie Warren and will be directed by Tony® Award winner Doug Hughes at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd St). The cast will also feature Adam Driver as Frank Gardner, Mark Harelik as Sir George Crofts, Edward Hibbert as Mr. Praed and Michael Siberry as Reverend Samuel Gardner.

Rumor has it that audience members who attended last week¹s 2nd Annual Sketch Comedy Festival are on the road to recovery following Tuesday and Wednesday night¹s side-splitting shows. Nearly 400 patrons got quite a workout exercising their laughter muscles as the seven troupes went head-to-head to battle it out for best troupe.
