In celebration of the 15th anniversary of "The Lion King" on Broadway, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," with Emmy Award-winning host Meredith Vieira, will host two principal actors from the hit musical as contestants today, December 10. Chantel Riley (Nala) and Ben Jeffrey (Pumbaa) will play "Millionaire" as a two-person team and will donate their winnings to The Actors Fund, a national human services organization that helps professionals in performing arts and entertainment in times of need, crisis or transition. The duo is guaranteed to win a minimum of $10,000 for The Actors Fund.

In celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of Broadway's landmark musical event The Lion King, cast members Alton Fitzgerald White, Chondra La-Tease Profit and Lindiwe Dlamini 'flipped the switch' and lit the world-famous Empire State Building's tower lights with the signature color of the production. The lights will shine yellow in honor of the anniversary today, December 4, 2012. Check out photos of the cast at the Empire State Building below!

Supported by funds from the City of New York Theater Subdistrict Council, LDC and the City of New York, Disney's hit musicals The Lion King and Newsies have joined The Broadway Accessibility/Audience Expansion Initiative, which creates collaboration between producers and accessibility specialists at all stages of production. The Initiative is a partnership between Inclusion in the Arts, a New York-based not-for-profit, and G-PASS, a service company utilizing technology from Sound Associates Inc., in collaboration with Disney Theatrical Productions. This historic Initiative provides theatre-goers with disabilities a theatre experience as complete and captivating as that enjoyed by non-disabled audience members. The services are: I-Caption for deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons and D-Scriptive for blind and low-vision patrons.

Disney Theatrical Productions and Omaha Performing Arts announced today that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of DISNEY'S THE LION KING will go on sale to the public today, December 3.

The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony® Award-winning play by Rick Elice which tells the back story of Peter Pan, announced today that they have partnered with the NYC Department of Education to hold a special matinee for theater students on Wednesday, December 5 at 11:30 AM, with a post-show talkback following the performance.

The Fox Cities' most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's stage on Tuesday, April 9 for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, May 5. The opening night performance is Thursday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. The show's six-week premiere engagement in 2007 played a sold-out run at the Fox Cities P.A.C

Last night, eight-time Grammy Award winner and 2009 Tony® Award nominee Dolly Parton, attended a performance of Newsies, the Tony® Award winning new American musical, and visited with the cast backstage afterwards. Parton attended with the show's director, Jeff Calhoun. Calhoun first worked with Parton when he was cast as a dancer in the 1982 film version of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and recently directed both the US and UK tours of her Broadway musical 9 to 5. The North American tour of Disney's The Lion King broke the SHN Orpheum Theatre box office record (for the highest grossing week of a Broadway engagement), grossing $1,674,059 for eight performances the week ending November 25.

'Inside The Lion King,' the first immersive, pop-up exhibit ever created for a Broadway show, arrives adjacent to Bryant Park, on 42nd Street and Avenue of the Americas, for a limited time to celebrate 15 years of The Lion King in New York City. More than 65 million people have experienced The Lion King, but never before like this. In this free exhibit, fans of all ages will experience and interact with 86 museum-quality artifacts including hand-made puppets, sculpted masks, elaborate artisan costumes and extraordinary sets that have appeared in productions from around the world.

NEWSIES, Disney's popular new musical about a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenage "newsies", will receive Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Sixth Annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The honor is the only industry accolade of its kind and honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. The award will be presented in the Actors' Equity Association Council Room, overlooking Times Square, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.
