In April, New Conservatory Theatre Center presents the regional premiere of a deeply insightful and very funny new play from one of the writers of HBO's Boardwalk Empire and Showtime's Masters of Sex, The Mystery of Love and Sex by Bathsheba Doran. Charlotte and Jonny have been best friends since they were nine. She's Jewish, he's Christian, she's white, and he's black. They love each other, but not in that way. Or maybe that way. As they tumble into their twenties and confront the mysteries of their sexuality, they eventually find that the path forward is not always the one right in front of you.

Waiting for the show to begin, dozens of families trickled into the Skylight's Cabot Theatre, toting little girls in their Sunday best. Eyes gleaming, some of them were lucky enough to snag a booster seat, while others hung over the orchestra railing to sneak a peek at the conductor during Annie's overture. I remember being that little girl myself. Cue the fond nostalgia.
Skylight Music Theatre today presents this holiday season's production of Annie. This seven-time Tony Award-winning musical runs from November 17 through December 23, 2017 in the beautiful Cabot Theatre at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway, in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.
