The Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, is making its much-anticipated return to Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre April 28-May 3, 2015 as part of the 2014-2015 Thrivent Financial Broadway on Hennepin season. DOCTOR ZHIVAGO will be back on Broadway duty tonight, April 3, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. Following the cancellation of last night's preview due to leading man Tam Mutu's illness, performances will officially resume tonight at the Broadway Theatre with Mutu's understudy, Bradley Dean, in the role of Yurii Zhivago.

DOCTOR ZHIVAGO's Paul Alexander Nolan will kick-off the New York Yankee's 2015 season by singing 'God Bless America' during the 7th Inning Stretch at their home opener against Toronto's Blue Jays. Broadway World has just learned that tonight's preview performance new Broadway musical Doctor Zhivago has been cancelled. A show representative confirmed: 'Tam Mutu is out of the show due to illness. With less than a week of preview performances to date, there has not been time to prepare the understudy. Performances will resume tomorrow, Friday, April 3rd at 8pm. Tickets for tonight's performance can be exchanged at point of purchase.'

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, continues its 50th Anniversary Season, Golden, with 'The Who's TOMMY,' Music and Lyrics by Pete Townshend, Book by Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff, Additional Music and Lyrics by John Entwistle and Keith Moon. The 60's were an exciting time for music in America, due in no small part to the proliferation of groups with amazing vocal harmonies like The Mamas & Papas, The Beach Boys, Spanky & Our Gang and The Four Seasons. JERSEY BOYS is a jukebox musical based on the song catalog of The Four Seasons; however, unlike most jukebox musicals, JERSEY BOYS features an intelligent script where the songs flow with the story instead of being forced into a storyline. I suspect the participation of Rick Elice, who was also one of the scriptwriters for the charming and witty PETER AND THE STARCATCHER had more than a little to do with the intelligence and theatrical storytelling skill on display here.

THE MIDTOWN MEN, four original cast members from the Broadway hit JERSEY BOYS (Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard, J. Robert Spencer) have come together and have formed their own music group which brings to life the music of the 60's in what's sure to be an energy packed show.
