Photo Flash: GREASE Tour is the 'Word' in LA!

The brand new production of GREASE, stars American Idol winner Taylor Hicks alongside Eric Schneider as 'Danny' and Emily Padgett as 'Sandy.' Eric made his Broadway debut in Jersey Boys. His previous credits include Altar Boyz (Off-Broadway) and the national tours of Altar Boyz and The Full Monty. Emily made her Broadway debut in GREASE, where she understudied the role of Sandy. Her other credits include Legally Blonde on Broadway and the national tours of CATS. Starring as 'Rizzo' will be Allie Schulz, a contestant on NBC's 'Grease: You're the One That I Want.' Allie comes directly from the Broadway company of GREASE.

RUINED Extends at MTC Thru 4/19

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that the critically acclaimed production of RUINED by playwright Lynn Nottage and director Kate Whoriskey has been extended by popular demand through Sunday, April 19.

The UK Telegraph is revealing that even before Jane Fonda opened on Broadway last night in 33 Variations, several London producers had contacted her saying they wanted her to bring the show to the West End.

Kennedy Center RAGTIME Announces 1 Week Extension

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced a one week extension for its production of RAGTIME. The musical will now run in the Eisenhower Theater April 18 through May 17, 2009. Based on a 1975 novel by E.L. Doctorow, the production features book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and will be directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge. The musical is part of the Kennedy Center?s Broadway: The Third Generation, a series celebrating the current generation of Broadway musical composers. The official press night will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

Jane Fonda heads a cast of eight in 33 VARIATIONS, a new American play written and directed by Mois?s Kaufman, about Katherine Brandt (Jane Fonda) trying to solve a centuries-old mystery about the world's greatest composer. Katherine's obsession takes her from present-day New York to 19th century Austria. As the music that consumes Katherine comes to life on stage, she races against time to find common ground with her daughter and to embrace the legacy of her own life.

Lynn Nottage To Be Featured On NY1's ON STAGE 2/21, 2/22

Lynn Nottage, whose critically acclaimed new play RUINED is playing an extended engagement at MTC, will be this week's featured guest on NY1's 'On Stage.' 'On Stage' will air on NY1 (Time Warner Cable Channel 1) Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22 at 9:30 AM and 7:30 PM, and Monday, February 23 (early Tuesday) at 12:30 AM.

The New York Post's Michael Riedel is reporting in his 'On Broadway' column this morning that the mother and daughter team of Vanessa Redgrave and Natasha Richardson had such a wonderful time performing in the Roundabout gala benefit reading of Stephen Sondheim's 'A Little Night Music' last month that they're up for a full-fledged revival on Broadway next year.

It was believed by many back in 1932, as it still is today, that the only reason Eugene O'Neill was not awarded that year's Pulitzer Prize for his Mourning Becomes Electra, an epic retelling of Aeschylus' Oresteia trilogy that declares Sigmund Freud as the true victor of the American Civil War, was that after granting him top honors for Beyond The Horizon (1920), Anna Christie (1922) and Strange Interlude (1928) the gang at Columbia figured enough was enough. Taylor Hicks Extends as 'Teen Angel' in GREASE Tour

The producers of the first national touring production of the Tony Award nominated Broadway musical GREASE? are proud to announce that 'American Idol' winner, Taylor Hicks, will continue on with the tour during the 2009 ? 2010 season. Hicks made his Broadway debut in the role of 'Teen Angel' and has been on the road with GREASE? since the tour began in Providence on December 2, 2008. New cities and dates to be announced shortly.

GREASE Star Taylor Hicks to Appear on Regis & Kelly Feb. 19 & 20

TAYLOR HICKS, star of the Broadway national tour of GREASE?, will appear on 'Live with Regis and Kelly' on Thursday, February 19 and Friday, February 20, 2009. The platinum selling singer and 'American Idol' winner will appear as part of Regis and Kelly's 'Dating with the Stars' segment. 'Live' airs in NYC at 9:00 a.m. on WABC Channel 7.
