Eighteen new provocative and engaging plays will be presented in groups A and B of 9 plays each. The plays, directed by innovative directors, are produced by a select team of New York's finest designers. Each performance is a well-orchestrated production, with smooth transitions between each polished segment in a string of works from the 8 MINUTE PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL 2011.

The New York Theater Community's Mobilization Rally for Equality, organized by The Public Theater, the cast of HAIR, Broadway Impact and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) was held on Friday, August 28th onstage at Central Park's Delacorte Theater.

America's longest running professional summer theatre, The Cape Playhouse will proudly present the regional debut of Broadway's recent hit musical 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' as their third summer offering with a stable of Broadway talent including Brent Barrett, Dee Hoty ,Perry Ojeda, Stephanie Youell, Heather Parcels and John Scherer.

A party was held on Thursday night, September 15th at Bond 45 to welcome Brooke Shields to the Broadway company of Chicago. Shields joined the company as ROxie Hart on September 9th after a summer-run of the same part in the London production of Chicago.
