TWO ROOMS is a love story set in two rooms--one, a cell in Beirut where a man is held prisoner, another, in the home of his wife who waits for his return home.
Everyman's production of Two Rooms by Lee Blessing is now in previews and opens officially on Friday, January 22nd. Directed by Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi, Two Rooms is in many ways a love story. It speaks to how much we are capable of enduring for those we care the most about.
David Lindsay-Abaire's RABBIT HOLE, now playing at the Everyman Theater, features a character who is never seen, but whose presence is felt by everyone on stage. His absence fires the play's tragic center, leaving each character with their own burden of pain to carry. How each shoulders this burden is the essence of Lindsay-Abaire's work.

Anton Chekov's The Cherry Orchard appears to be a simple story, but is so much more; the issues, conflicts and passions burst in color, like a cherry orchard in bloom, on the stage.
Anton Chekhov's modern classic The Cherry Orchard opens on March 18 and runs through April 26. Directed by Everyman Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi and translated by Michael Frayn, the production features several members of Everyman's Resident Company: Megan Anderson, Deborah Hazlett, Rosemary Knower, Wil Love, Carl Schurr, and Stan Weiman. Media Sponsor is the Jewish Times.
Bruce R. Nelson Excels at the Everyman Theatre:Well, it's happened three times. Plays that I saw on Broadway that were critically acclaimed but yet I didn't really enjoy them. Then I saw them at the intimate Everyman Theatre and loved them. It started with Proof, then Doubt, and now I Am My Own Wife.
In the latter, I was stunned at the wonderful performance by Jefferson Mays (an associate artist at Center Stage), yet I didn't grasp the show as much as I did after seeing the cast at the Everyman. And who makes up the cast? The incomparable Bruce R. Nelson in a tour de force performance that you will remember forever!
