BWW Review: Winter Park Playhouse's THE RAT PACK LOUNGE Hits All of the Classic Crooner Notes

Your last name doesn't have to end in a vowel to know that there has ever been a cooler group of people to walk the earth than the Rat Pack. In The Winter Park Playhouse's latest show, THE RAT PACK LOUNGE, Frank, Dean, and Sammy (do they even need last names?) get a second chance to bring their unique brand of cool back to their home away from home, the Vegas Strip. The show runs through February 14th, and while every performance is completely sold out, WPP does occasionally have cancellations, so check with the theatre's box office for available performances.

?KAREN WYMAN - the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist currently celebrating a renaissance since her days performing on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "The Dean Martin Show" - will return to The Metropolitan Room on Saturday, January 31 at 7:00 PM. Her engagement at the venue last year was named a "Critic's Pick" by Time Out New York and called "a compelling concert and a totally-inspiring comeback performance" by BroadwayWorld.com. The new evening of music will feature timeless pop standards by Cole Porter, Jule Styne and Harold Arlen, in addition to 1960's classics from The Beatles and Burt Bacharach and her Billboard-charting hit "Why Can't I Walk Away?" The show will feature music director John Oddo (Rosemary Clooney, Michael Feinstein, Linda Eder) on piano leading an all-star trio.

After seeing the new INTO THE WOODS movie twice over the holidays, I posted on Twitter about how two of the songs had stuck with me. After a tweet conversation, my BWW colleague Jeff Walker and I decided to put our heads together to try and come up with a list of Sondheim's most hummable tunes. Despite not discussing it beforehand, Jeff ended up picking songs from the 1960s and 70s, and I filled in the gaps with numbers from the 80s and 90s.

Hot Rod City Las Vegas and Michael Dezer, owner of one of the world's largest vehicle collections at The Miami Auto Museum, announce the grand opening of the new Hollywood Cars Museum by Jay Ohrberg in Las Vegas. The recent partnering of Dezer, one of the world's foremost car collectors, and legendary custom car builder Ohrberg has resulted in a 30,000 sq.-ft.
