On Saturday, October 7th at 7:30 P.M, David will present a one-night-only concert of his songs of love, inspiration and laughter, sung by a cast of Connecticut's finest singers, and will share the stories behind the songs in 'BROADWAY AND CABARET SING DAVID FRIEDMAN.'

ScoBar Entertainment and The Iridium announced that Kathleen France--two-time Emmy Award Nominee and 2015 MAC Award Winner (for 'Best Cabaret Revue' with Dawn Derow)--will present her new show, LA BELLA VITA, for one-night-only on October 4 at 8 pm. Directed by MAC Award-winning vocalist and MAC Award-nominated director Tanya Moberly, France's show is a tribute to Italian-American singers and what she calls 'a celebration of what they've contributed to help us all live the good life.' From Frank Sinatra to Dean Martin, from Tony Bennett to Bobby Darin, from Madonna to Lady Gaga, and more, France will sing tunes they made famous, backed by Musical Director Ian Herman on piano and an eight-piece band (led by Sean Harkness on guitar, Tom Hubbard on bass, and Dave Silliman on drums) playing everything from big band jazz, to doo-wop, to classic standards, to movie themes.

On Thanksgiving Day, BroadwayWorld announced the nominees in 14 categories for the 2015 BWW New York Cabaret Awards. BroadwayWorld's cabaret editors and reviewers congratulate all the deserving nominees and everyone who performs in the great art of cabaret in New York. But today, as you munch on the leftovers from last night's dinner, it's time to actually vote for that one performer who you think is the absolute best in each category. When BroadwayWorld.com Cabaret Reviewer Billie Roe was invited to the CabaretFest 2015 Provincetown scheduled for June 4-7, it was to attend as a performer, not necessarily as a reviewer. But we couldn't resist the opportunity to have Billie at least report on some aspects of the long, event-filled weekend and record some of her impressions in something akin to a diary. Based on Billie's descriptive account here, this year's Cabaret Festival in Provincetown, MA, sounds like one of the cabaret highlights of the year.
In 2015, the CabaretFest in Provincetown (MA), one of America's biggest Cabaret events, is returning to its roots. After a one-year layoff, this weekend extravaganza of song that began in 1999 under the guidance of actor and cabaret performer John O'Neil, will be back this June (4-7) bigger and better than ever. Singer and Cape Cod resident Patricia Fitzpatrick and Ambassador Productions has recruited O'Neil to help re-launch the event in its original format-only longer. CabaretFest 2015 Provincetown weekend will be jammed-packed with activities and shows that Fitzpatrick says, 'Promise to be educational, entertaining, and fun, and all will celebrate 'The Art of Cabaret!'
Hot off her 2015 MAC Award win The Sexy Sass Coloratura is laughing like Adele from ' Die Fledermaus,' 'its so funny ha ha ha,' and it will be funny and glorious when she recreates that famous aria and many more in her critically acclaimed show LEGIT (A Classical Cabaret) Directed by Lina Koutrakos, with Music Direction by Mark Janas with Special Guest Operatic Tenor Christopher Yoon and multi-Award winning songstress Celia Berk.
From the Oscars to the Tonys, the Grammys to Emmys, awards ceremonies are always a hit-or-miss situation. Either the event is absolutely excellent or ends with spectators saying, 'Well, they'll do a better job with it next year.' The 2015 MAC Awards, presented by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs, and held once again this year at BB King's on West 42nd Street, absolutely fell into the former category. It was a splendid affair (albeit it's usual 3-plus hours) that was expertly directed by MAC President Lennie Watts.
At a ceremony held last night in New York, the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs announced the winners of the 2015 MAC Awards. The show was hosted by Karen Mason, with musical direction by Barry Levitt, and was produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts.
