Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning tonight, Friday, September 16 at midnight for two-time Tony Award nominee, Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner Alan Rickman (Private Lives, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, the Harry Potter franchise) making his eagerly-anticipated return to Broadway starring in the World Premiere of SEMINAR, a new comedy by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Peabody Award winner Theresa Rebeck (Mauritius, The Understudy, Omnium Gatherum, The Family of Mann, Spike Heels, NBC's upcoming 'Smash'). Directed by acclaimed Obie Award winner Sam Gold (Circle Mirror Transformation, The Aliens, Tigers Be Still, Kin, The Coward) in his Broadway debut, the production will also star Tony Award nominee Lily Rabe (The Merchant of Venice, Steel Magnolias, this summer's lauded A Doll's House at Williamstown) and Obie Award winner Hamish Linklater (The School for Lies, Twelfth Night, 'The New Adventures of Old Christine').

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that The Select (The Sun Also Rises), created by Elevator Repair Service (ERS) based on Ernest Hemingway's novel, The Sun Also Rises, and directed by John Collins, will begin performances Friday, August 19 at 7pm, at NYTW, 79 East 4th Street, between Second Avenue and Bowery.

Last year around this time, Elevator Repair Service had Gotham playgoers abuzz with their cover-to-cover, word-for-word staging of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, re-titled Gatz. Director John Collins' off-beat adaptation, which had Computer Age office workers assuming the roles of Fitzgerald's Jazz Agers, intrigued many, but also terrified quite a few with its six hour and twenty minute length. (Intermissions and a dinner break stretched the production to over eight hours.)

Tickets are now on sale for the Broadway production of Jon Robin Baitz's OTHER DESERT CITIES, starring Stacy Keach, Stockard Channing and Judith Light. OTHER DESERT CITIES will begin preview performances Oct. 12 at the Booth Theatre and will open Thursday, November 3.

Playwrights Horizons will present the New York premiere of COMPLETENESS, a new play by Itamar Moses (The Four of Us, Bach at Leipzig). Directed by Obie Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Clybourne Park at PH, The Four of Us, Occupant, Peter and Jerry), the production will begin previews Friday, August 19 at 8PM with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, September 13 at 7PM. The first production of the theater company's 2011/2012 Season, the limited engagement will play through Sunday, September 25 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater. Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Stockard Channing, Rachel Griffiths, Stacy Keach, Judith Light and Thomas Sadoski will star in its Broadway production of Jon Robin Baitz's critically acclaimed new play OTHER DESERT CITIES this fall.
