The Maltz Jupiter Theatre Paul and Sandra Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts has announced the recipients of its annual Conservatory Awards.

STAGE DOOR PLAYERS, Dunwoody's own professional theatre company, continues its 40th Anniversary Season with Miracle on South Division Street by Tom Dudzick, directed by Dina Shadwell. The show opens on Friday, March 21, 8pm curtain, and runs until April 13. The cast features mother-son duo Susan Shalhoub Larkin and Tony Larkin (on stage together for the first time!), Kara Cantrell, and Kelly Criss (who just directed SDP's On Golden Pond). Excitement is growing as the cast of Melbourne Theatre Company's Rupert have one sleep ahead of them before the play's US premiere at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts World Stages: International Theater Festival on Wednesday night (US time).

Melbourne Theatre Company today paid tribute to one of Australia's great actors, Wendy Hughes, who passed away yesterday.

The Washington DC-bound cast of Melbourne Theatre Company's 2013 hit, David Williamson's Rupert, began rehearsals today ahead of performing at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts World Stages: International Theater Festival next month. Rupert will be on stage at the Kennedy Center in the Eisenhower Theater from Wednesday 12 - Saturday 15 March.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will host 22 theatrical offerings from 20 different countries during WORLD STAGES: International Theater Festival 2014 that will run for three weeks March 10-30, 2014 throughout the Center. The international festival features contemporary theater works offering 13 fully staged productions, 4 theater-focused installations, 3 readings of new works, and 2 forums. From Olivier and Tony Award-winning puppetry to innovative perspectives on old classics, a diverse showcase of theatrical expression will be represented by countries spanning the globe including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, England, France, Iceland, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Pakistan, Palestine, Scotland, South Africa, Sudan, Syria, and the United States.

TheatreSquared announced today its 2013 Gala for Education, the theatre's signature annual celebration supporting arts-in-education outreach to 14,000 students throughout Arkansas. Ensemble Theatre's 2014 season was launched on Aug 19 at the theatre with over 200 actors, directors, playwrights and group bookers in attendance. Australia's best known and most prolific playwright, David Williamson takes on the greatest media mogul of all time in the world premiere of Rupert which opens on Thursday 29 August 2013 at Arts Centre Melbourne, Playhouse, directed by Lee Lewis. Following its world premiere, Rupert will tour to Washington D.C. for five performances between 12-15 March 2014 as part of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts WORLD STAGES: International Theatre Festival.

Clockfire Theatre's The Grief Parlour comes to Riverside Theatres from Thursday, 12 till Saturday, 21 September 2013, to take the audience on a surreal, fantastical journey in search of a single glittering moment of reunion after death. An eternal hope… to pass through a crack in the wall of life to find those lost in a place outside time - just for one second. The Grief Parlour is presented as the first production of Riverside's 2013 True West Theatre Season.

Melbourne Theatre Company today announced that David Williamson's Rupert will tour to Washington D.C. to participate in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts WORLD STAGES: INTERNATIONAL THEATER FESTIVAL in March 2014. This is Melbourne Theatre Company's first international tour and it will be the only Australian theatre company participating in this Festival.
