A Contemporary Theatre packs theatre, music ,and dance into a short month with Central Heating Lab events, including the conclusion of Two by Pinter from Shadow & Light Theatre Company and Project 3 from Seattle Dance Project, a musical revue of 80s movies and music in The Soft Rock Kid, and the debut of a new play from David Wiener at the ACT New Play Award.

The Lark Play Development Center announced the selected playwrights for the 2009-10 Playwrights' Workshop. This year's writers are Michi Barall (Ma-Yi Writer's Lab), Madeleine George (13P founding member), Katori Hall (Lark's 2009 PONY Fellow), Sarah Treem (HBO's 'In Treatment') and David Wiener (Extraordinary Chambers).

South Coast Repertory has announced the lineup of actors and directors who will participate in the 12th annual Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). Since its creation in 1998, PPF has grown into one of the most important festivals of new scripts in the United States. This year?s Festival will take place during the May 1 through May 3 weekend and will feature five staged readings and two fully-produced World Premieres on South Coast Repertory?s Segerstrom and Julianne Argryos Stages.
