David Hyde Pierce, Trip Cullman and More to Direct Powerhouse Readings This Summer

New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, this summer celebrating thirty years of their Powerhouse Theater collaboration, have announced the Play Readings Festival lineups that will bookend their upcoming 30th Powerhouse Theater Season, running from June 20 - July 27 at Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, New York).

New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, this summer celebrating the 30th year of their Powerhouse Theater collaboration, have announced the four workshops-two musicals, two plays-that will be a part of the upcoming 30th Powerhouse Theater Season, running from June 20 to July 27 at Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, New York). Full programming will be announced at a later date. Subscriptions will be available online on May 7, 2014, and single tickets will go on sale online May 20. The Actors' Gang to Launch A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM International Tour this Summer; Tim Robbins to Direct

The Actors' Gang, the critically acclaimed Los Angeles based ensemble Theatre Company, will be heading overseas bringing William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Academy Award winner Tim Robbins, to international audiences. The production will put on six performances in Beijing, China, June 10th - 15th at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, four performances in Shanghai, China, June 19th - 21st at the Daguan Theatre, Zendai Himalayas Art Center and four to six performances in Italy, June 28th - July 6th at the prestigious Spoleto Festival.

Long Beach Opera Announces AN AMERICAN SOLDIER'S TALE and A FIDDLER'S TALE, 5/4

Long Beach Opera's offbeat double bill provides two iconic American takes on Igor Stravinsky's whimsical, neoclassical theater piece L'Histoire du Soldat. Composed in 1918, Stravinsky's original score was set to Ferdinand Ramuz's version of a Russian folktale about a soldier in pursuit of a princess and a treasure who is conned by the Devil.

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director) will examine contemporary American mores with two journalistic theater pieces in rep. The Junket, a new, hilariously scandalous solo show based on scandalous actual events, written and performed by Mike Albo, coming to Culture Project from an extended run at Dixon Place. The second piece that Culture Project is presenting in conjunction with The Junket is Dan Hoyle's The Real Americans. Previews begin March 14th and the show will run from March 16th until April 22nd at the Lynn Redgrave Theater (45 Bleecker Street, NYC).

Mike Albo's THE JUNKET Extends Through 2/1 at Dixon Place

The Junket, a new, hilariously scandalous solo show based on scandalous actual events, written and performed by Mike Albo, extends its run at Dixon Place a second time, originally scheduled to close on Saturday, November 16th. The Junket will now play on January 17 & 18 at 7:00 p.m. and January 25th and February 1st at 10:00 p.m. at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street, NYC).

Throughout their long careers, these two individuals have carved out a voice for the arts, championing countless artists working across platforms.

Chicago Opera Theater's Chicago Premiere of Giuseppe Verdi's Joan of Arc places the audience directly in the midst of a play within a play in a newly conceived production by 'avant-garde director for the masses' David Schweizer. With Suzan Hanson returning after her acclaimed COT debut as Madeleine in The Fall of the House of Usher to sing the title part in this opera, selected via poll by COT audiences to celebrate Verdi's 200th birthday. COT's production features Chicago's New Millennium Orchestra conducted by its artistic director Francesco Milioto. Performances are held at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive tonight, Sept 21; Wednesday, Sept 25; Friday, Sept 27; and Sunday Matinee, Sept 29. Tickets are on sale now.

Meredith Burns, Donna Haley & More Set for Glass Bandits' FEELING; Full Cast Announced

Glass Bandits Theater Company will present the World Premiere of playwright Paul Cameron Hardy's (semi-finalist for the Page 73 2013 Playwriting Fellowship) feeling.directed by Eddie Prunoske (In Memoriam: a recession play in 13 acts with House of Yes), October 5-26 at The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street between Washington and Greenwich). The production will feature Meredith Burns* (wolves in abasement with Glass Bandits), Donna Haley* (Blanche in Brighton Beach Memoirson Broadway), Carl Holder* (The Boogman Thumbs A-1-A with Glass Bandits), Ben Mehl* (The Comedy of Errors with The Public Theater), Quinn Meyers (Red House), and Luke Robertson* (Good Television with Atlantic Theater).
