The 60s sci-fi immersive musical comedy Wild Women of Planet Wongo, a wacky B-movie inspired sci-fi comedy about two astronauts that land on a planet of beautiful warrior women who have never seen men, is returning to New York after its successful Brooklyn run last year. Presented by Not Too Fancy Productions, LLC, Performances will begin at Parkside Lounge (317 East Houston) on Wednesday, September 28 at 8pm and run each Wednesday through November 16, 2016. FACING EAST, based on a play by CAROL LYNN PEARSON follows an upstanding Mormon couple faced with the suicide of their gay son. When they unexpectedly meet their son's partner they must face a reality long ignored, and reconcile feelings with beliefs. After workshops in Chicago and Dallas the show had a developmental charity concert at the Lyric Theatre in London, England starring several West End artists, directed by Ryan Mooney. This world premiere is the first time the show will receive a full production, with a Canadian cast and production team, and is the 40th production for FIGHTING CHANCE PRODUCTIONS.

The original 1960's inspired sci-fi musical WILD WOMEN OF PLANET WONGO gets an immersive, dance-party infused production beginning June 11. This theatrical extravaganza will transform the bar and gallery space of Bushwick's Brooklyn Fireproof into Planet Wongo where audience members can dance, interact with sexy alien beings and be part of the show. Wongo is based on a concept by Ben Budick with music by Dave Ogrin, lyrics by Ben Budick, Steve Mackes and Dave Ogrin and a book by Steve Mackes. David Rigano directs. Performances begin June 11.

Facing East, a new musical based on the play of the same name by Carol Lynn Pearson, will have a special preview reading this spring in Chicago. The showʼs book and lyrics are by Mark Garcia, and David Rigano will provide the score.
The reading will be directed by Andrew Hobgood (NY Fringeʼs award winning Love is Dead), who will also direct the showʼs world premier next year. The reading will be held for invited guests, but a limited number of tickets willbe made available to the general public.

Billed as a delicious gathering for the musical community, Big Night Out is a unique and supportive environment for performers and composers of all backgrounds to come together and perform the music that they love. Participants, with the help of resident musical director and co-host William 'Bill' Zeffiro, singers are encouraged to try out new material, sing the roles that they aspire to play, sing the roles they will never play, or just show off for the joy of it.
