NY Philharmonic to Screen WEST SIDE STORY Film; Score Played Live

The New York Philharmonic will screen the multi-Academy Award-winning film West Side Story, with Leonard Bernstein's complete score performed live by the Orchestra, led by Academy Award-nominated film composer/conductor David Newman in his Philharmonic debut, Wednesday and Thursday, September 7 and 8, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. A new sound technology, developed by Paris-based Audionamix and utilized by Chace Audio by Deluxe, has isolated the dialogue and the vocal tracks, allowing the Orchestra to accompany the film in real time.

BROADWAY BOUND stars Jeff Award and Drama Desk Award winner Mike Nussbaum as 'Ben' (Glengarry Glen Ross on Broadway, The Merchant of Venice at Chicago Shakespeare); Jeff Award and Sarah Siddons Award winner Carmen Roman (National Tour of Angels in America) as 'Kate,' reprising the role she played in the 2004 Peninsula Players production of BROADWAY BOUND; and multi-Jeff Award recipient and Sarah Siddons Award winner Paula Scrofano as 'Blanche' (Thoroughly Modern Millie at Drury Lane Theatre, The Most Happy Fella at Ravinia Festival, The Wizard of Oz at Chicago Shakespeare, and Sunday in the Park with George at Goodman Theatre). The production is directed by David New, multi-Jeff Award nominee, Sarah Siddons Award winner and former Associate Artistic Director at Steppenwolf Theatre.

Center Partners with GSU and Atlantic Station for Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive

NSTC Extends A DELICATE BALANCE Through 8/15

NSTC has EXTENDED the run of the first play of its TENTH SEASON, 'A Delicate Balance,' the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Edward Albee, directed by Ceil Herman through AUGUST 15. The remaining performances are Thursday, AUGUST 5 at 7:00 p.m., Fridays, AUGUST 6 and 13 at 8 p.m., Saturdays, AUGUST 7 and 14 at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays, AUGUST 8 and 15 at 2:30 p.m.

Brigid Brannagh and Sean Patrick Flanery Set for Hallmark Movie, 'Mystery Girl'

Brigid Brannagh ('Army Wives') and Sean Patrick Flanery ('Citizen Jane') star in 'Mystery Girl,' a Hallmark Channel Original Movie about Ben (Flanery) who e-mails a beautiful 'mystery girl' who keeps crossing his path, but the message accidentally goes to the wrong address. When he continues e-mail exchanges with the girl at this wrong address and starts dating the beautiful 'mystery girl,' he just can't figure out why she's not the same in-person as in her online messages. Eventually, he learns who he's actually been 'e-relating' to.
