On July 7, 2008, RINGO STARR joined fans, friends and family on the streets in front of Hard Rock Cafe Chicago to celebrate his birthday with a simple call to action: Inviting everyone everywhere to say, post #peaceandlove or even think “Peace & Love” at noon, their local time. Ten years later, Ringo's dream of generating a wave of Peace & Love that spans the planet on July 7 starting at noon in New Zealand and ending at noon in Hawaii continues to unfold.  Last year saw fans in over 23 countries join the movement – from New Zealand to Antarctica, Latin America to Asia, Hawaii and more.

British indietronica synthpop artist Rodney Cromwell has announced his forthcoming new 'Rodney's English Disco' EP, his first collection of all new material in three years. Previewed by the song 'Comrades', which also features a 12' extended dance mix by electronica act Vieon, the new EP will be available on 7' vinyl, CD and digitally via London-based Happy Robots Records.

Austin-based, chart-topping psych-rock prodigy Ty Richards is thrilled to announce the premiere of his latest single, 'Red Pill,' off of his upcoming album, 'Welcome to Flat Earth,' with Paste Magazine.The premiere can be found here. The track is available for purchase here and everywhere else digital music is sold. Justin Krohn has built up an impressive resume over his career in the film industry. Over the years he has edited shows such as MR. ROBOT, TWIN PEAKS, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, BLOODLINE, and is currently working on Sam Esmail's new show HOMECOMING. He took the time to speak with me about how he got into editing, the editing process of USA Network's MR. ROBOT, and the ins-and-outs of being a film editor.

Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced a special limited run of Confessions of a Mulatto Love Child, written and performed by Bellina Logan. Craig Wedren is an acclaimed songwriter, singer and film & television composer; he recently released Adult Desire, his fourth solo album, and first since 2011. The Film Society of Lincoln Center and The Museum of Modern Art announce the complete lineup for the 47th annual New Directors/New Films (ND/NF), March 28-April 8. Throughout its rich, nearly half-century history, the festival celebrates filmmakers who represent the present and anticipate the future of cinema, daring artists whose work pushes the envelope in unexpected ways. This year's festival will introduce 25 features and 10 short films to New York audiences.

Noir starlet Virginia Lee played the pivotal role of Jeannie in the infamous bar scene in the 1950 film noir classic, D.O.A. She was never credited for her pivotal role in the film. Now, in director Alex Webb's modern-day noir thriller To The Flame, Lee finally gets her name in the credits thanks to a bit of movie magic.

Canadian singer/songwriter/producer Goody Grace has unveiled the highly anticipated video for his smash hit, “Two Shots” feat. gnash. The sultry companion video premiered today via Baeble and marks Goody's first video released via Atlantic Records/Banana Beat. Featuring moody lighting and masquerade masks, the “Two Shots” video takes viewers on a trippy, haunting ride.

On February 6th at Joe's Pub in New York City, Lisa Fox and the David Lynch Foundation (DLF) will host a book launch party and meet-and-greet featuring longtime meditators Jerry Seinfeld, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness to celebrate the release of Bob Roth's new book Strength in Stillness: The Power of Transcendental Meditation. Proceeds from the launch event and the sale of the book will go towards teaching women and children who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault to meditate through the Manhattan Family Justice Center. 

Singer, songwriter, actor and director Juan Pablo Di Pace today announced the release and debut of his new song and music video “Broken.” With an original idea by Di Pace (who can currently be seen as the character Fernando on Netflix's #1 show 'Fuller House') the video is a collaborative effort between Di Pace and his Fuller House co-star Adam Hagenbuch (who plays Jimmy Gibbler). The result? An intense film noir!

Day 2 of the 33rd Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) was underway yesterday with the presentation of the Cinema Vanguard Award to three-time Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe at The Arlington Theatre. The honor, which was presented by director Josh Boone, was bestowed upon Dafoe for his performance in “The Florida Project.”

The San Francisco-based, Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet / Kronos Performing Arts Association (KPAA) presents its fourth annual hometown music festival Kronos Festival 2018. With six concerts over three days, Kronos Festival 2018 illustrates one of the group's central artistic tenets: collaboration. After Kronos performed at NPR Music's 10th anniversary concert last month, NPR Music's Tom Huizenga wrote, 'Collaboration. It's in the DNA of the intrepid Kronos Quartet, which some 40 years ago began working with composers around the globe to spotlight new music.'
