It's that time of the year again for the recognition of some amazing up and coming talent on the theatre scene, specifically, the 20th Annual Kleban Awards. The Kleban Foundation is pleased to announce that the 20th Annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theater lyricist has gone to Peter Mills and the award for the most promising musical theater librettist has gone to Barry Wyner. The 2010 awards will be presented on June 21, 2010, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) at ASCAP.

When Isaiah Sheffer first walked into the dilapidated movie house on Broadway and 95th Street in the late '70s he saw some kind of makeshift boxing ring on the creaky stage. But what he envisioned was a great center for the arts on the Upper West Side that filled the wide cultural gap between Lincoln Center and Columbia University.

BLUEBARN Theatre will complete its 21st season with the 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama RABBIT HOLE, which opens June 10th and runs through July 3rd. BLUEBARN's Artistic Director, Susan Clement-Toberer directs David Lindsay-Abaire's award-winning script. RABBIT HOLE showcases costumes by Jenny Pool, scenic design by Martin Scott Marchitto, lighting design by Carol Wisner, with original music composed by David Murphy. Shows run Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays, June 20th and 27th at 6 p.m. There will be a post performance discussion following the show on Sunday June 20th at the KANEKO-UNO Library. Thursday, June 17 will showcase BLUEBARN's Witching Hour in lieu of a RABBIT HOLE performance. Ticket prices are $25 for adults; and $20 for students, TAG members, seniors 65+, and groups of 10 or more.

The official Facebook page for SHREK THE MUSICAL has announced that 'First up: he may be small in size (a mere 4 feet, 10 inches), but he makes up for it in tyranny! It's, Lord Farquaad, who will be played by Todd Buonopane. Todd has appeared in the Broadway production of 'Grease' and has also made TV appearances on '30 Rock' & 'Law & Order: CI.' We can be sure to expect BIG things from... this little dictator of Duloc.'
