Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston celebrates South Boston Club alumnus, the award-winning David Lindsay-Abaire, at tonight's, September 20 performance of the Huntington Theatre Company's production of Good People, Lindsay-Abaire's compelling Southie story.

Theatre B is opening its 10th season with Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire, the Pulitzer Prize winning writer of Rabbit Hole. This play follows Margaret, a recently unemployed single mother as she struggles to make ends meet, one paycheck to the next. An encounter with her old boyfriend (now a wealthy doctor) forces the pair to examine the gap between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'. Poignant and humorous, this play explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America.

Good Theater will present the Maine premiere of the recent Broadway success Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire. According to the Hollywood Reporter, stage and screen star Cynthia Nixon has signed on to play Emily Dickinson in an upcoming biopic helmed by Terrence Davies. Davies told THR: 'I wrote the screenplay with Cynthia in mind. It was the kind of dream casting you hope for. I never, for a moment, imagined my wishes would materialize. Cynthia has such a strong feeling for the work -- and now she is our Emily Dickinson. I'm over the moon.'

The Hampton Theatre Company in Quogue is all set to begin its 28th season, with four tremendously engaging and entertaining plays on the schedule from October through June 2013.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the San Diego Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People, the award-winning play about class divisions in modern-day Boston. Directed by Paul Mullins, Good People will run Sept. 29 - Oct. 28, 2012 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Sept. 29 - Oct. 3. Rehearsals began this week at Steppenwolf Theatre Company for the 2012/13 season opener, Good People, Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire's surprising, humorous and deeply moving tale of a modern American story set in economically opposed South Boston and Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. The 16th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards, presented by The Los Angeles Times, have announced that DreamWorks Animation's RISE OF THE GUARDIANS will receive this year's 'Hollywood Animation Award' at the festival's gala ceremony on October 22, 2012, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The Horton Foote Prizes, named in honor of the legendary writer, were established in 2010 to award excellence in American Theater. Presented biennially, the first Horton Foote Prize was awarded to Ruined by Lynn Nottage for Outstanding New American Play and Middletown by Will Eno for Promising New American Play.
