Mildred's Umbrella Theatre Company proudly presents our Houston area premier of Kimberly Akimbo, by Pulitzer Prize- winning playwright, David Lindsay Abaire. The show will be directed by veteran Houston director, Ron Jones, starring Carolyn Boone, Kim Tobin-Lehl, Jennifer Decker, Luke Fedell and Ty Doran. The performances will run November 29 thru December 15, 2012 at Studio 101 at Spring Street Studios.

The American Film Institute's annual festival announced the line up for its Centerpiece Galas today. Featured in the top spots will be Ang Lee's Life Of Pi, Walter Salles' On The Road, DreamWorks Animation's Rise Of The Guardians and Jacques Audiard's Rust And Bone starring Marion Cotillard. Also included will be the world premiere of HITCHCOCK, starring Anthony Hopkins in the title role.

What does it take to make it to the top? Hard work? Pure luck? A trust fund? Audiences are diving into these questions nightly at Steppenwolf Theatre Company's current hit production of Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by ensemble member K. Todd Freeman. Two days before the 2012 presidential election, Steppenwolf hosts Making Money: From the Black Market to the Board Room, a deeper conversation about the relationship between class, privilege and success featuring Sudhir Venkatesh, award-winning author, professor at Columbia University and Freakonomics contributor, who will share his insights with Steppenwolf Artistic Director Martha Lavey. Making Money: From the Black Market to the Board Room is on November 4, 2012 at 7pm in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Ovation nominated actor and Seaglass Theatre Managing Director Paul Stroili will direct the production.

Good Theater will present the Maine premiere of the recent Broadway success Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire. The 2012 Savannah Film Festival added Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actor John Goodman ('The Artist'), former president and chairman of Marvel Comics Stan Lee ('Spider-Man'), Pulitzer Prize winning screenwriter David Lindsay-Abaire ('Rabbit Hole') and John Gatins ('Real Steel') to its list of honorees.

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning actor John Goodman (Flight) will receive an Outstanding Achievement in Cinema Award and comic book legend, former President and Chairman of Marvel Comics Stan Lee (The Avengers) will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 15th Annual Savannah Film Festival, which will take place from October 27th to November 3th.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company begins the new year with Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party, under the direction of ensemble member Austin Pendleton. The Birthday Party features ensemble members Ian Barford, Francis Guinan, Moira Harris and John Mahoney with Sophia Sinise (one actor is still to be announced). The Birthday Party begins previews January 24 (Opening night is February 3, 2013; Press performances are February 2 at 3pm and February 5 at 7:30pm) and runs through May 19 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Theatre Communications Group has just realeased a list of the most-produced playwrights of the upcoming 2012-13 season, and topping the list is David Lindsay-Abaire, with 19 productions. Also on the list were: Matthew Lopez (15), David Mamet (15), Donald Margulies (15), Bruce Norris (15), August Wilson (14), Katori Hall (13), Brian Yorkey/Tom Kitt (13), David Ives (11), John Logan (11), Ken Ludwig (11).

The Horton Foote Prizes, named in honor of the legendary writer, were established in 2010 to award excellence in American Theater. Presented last night, the first Horton Foote Prize was awarded to Ruined by Lynn Nottage for Outstanding New American Play and Middletown by Will Eno for Promising New American Play.This year's recipients are David Lindsay-Abaire's GOOD PEOPLE for Outstanding New American Play, along with Naomi Wallace's THE LIQUID PLAIN for Promising New American Play. 'Good People,' a tough and tender new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, will launch the Hampton Theatre Company's 28th season on October 25.

In conjunction with the Huntington Theatre Company's hit production of South Boston native and Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People, Boston Globe reporter and South Boston native Billy Baker will speak about the vibrant and evolving neighborhood that plays a central role in the play at the post-show Humanities Forum tonight, September 30 immediately following the 2pm performance.

Actors Theatre's 2012-13 season brings five plays to Stage West at The Herberger Theater Center beginning with Mike Daisey's controversial The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs (tonight, Sept. 21-Oct. 7) and ending with the critically acclaimed Good People (May 3-19) by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire.
