Award-winning actress and comedian Mary Dimino's current one woman show BIG DUMMY: Me & My Old Man, has been selected to be apart of the Encore series in the 2015 United Solo Festival of Theatre Row. BIG DUMMY enjoyed a sold out, multiple engagement run in 2014, where it won the United Solo Award for First Sold Out Show.

Merged Work Productions (Lead Producers) and Jack Thomas (Executive Producer) announced today that music-world icons and television stars Steven Van Zandt and Paul Shaffer, along with Maureen Van Zandt and Joe Grano (Jersey Boys), have joined the Broadway-bound musical Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story as lead producers. It was also announced that Mr. Van Zandt will serve as the show's musical director. Piece of My Heart will open on Broadway in 2016.

Local magician Watt Hyer has been awarded the exclusive rights to teach theDiscover Magic educational program in the Richmond area. This national program is specially designed to teach key life skills to 8 to12 year olds through the process of learning to perform magic. The course was created by internationally-known, award winning magician and educator Michael Ammar and his creative team after nearly twenty years of research.

The Beatles performance at Dodger Stadium on August 28, 1966 was the second-to-last concert they ever played. Fans will get a jumpstart in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the final Beatles tour, with this program created especially for VPAC. The Fab Faux will recreate the historic set lists played by The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl and Dodger Stadium in 1964 - 1966 for one-night-only on Saturday, October 17 at 8pm.

The New Group has announced complete casting for the world premiere of STEVE, a new play by Mark Gerrard. Directed by Cynthia Nixon, this production features Ashlie Atkinson and Francisco Pryor Garat, and as announced, Mario Cantone, Jerry Dixon, Malcolm Gets and Matt McGrath. Broadway In Chicago and producers Starvox Entertainment and June Entertainment have announced the full cast for SHERLOCK HOLMES. JAMES MASLOW, the actor and singer perhaps best known for playing the role of James Diamond in Nickelodeon's 'Big Time Rush' and a member of the band with the same name, will star as the legendary Dr. John Watson, along with RENNE OLSTEAD, best known for her role as Lauren Miller in the TV sitcom 'Still Standing,' and as Madison Cooperstein in 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager,' as the well-to-do-American, Lady Irene St. John, opposite DAVID ARQUETTE in the title role as SHERLOCK HOLMES. The two actors will make their stage debuts in this new and original adaptation inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tales by playwright Greg Kramer and directed by Andrew Shaver scheduled to play Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 W Randolph) November 24 - 29, 2015.
