WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin announced the cast for The Ugly One which will be performed at the 2013 Out of the Loop Fringe Festival. The cast includes Montgomery Sutton as Lette, Jeff Swearingen as Karlmann, Ted Wold as Scheffler and Natalie Young as Fanny. Directed by Terry Martin, the play by Marius von Mayenburg, will be performed at the Out of the Loop Fringe Festival on March 7, 9, 10, 13, 15 and 16.
Opera San Jose continues its 29th season with Giuseppe Verdi's powerful drama, Il trovatore. Eight performances are scheduled from tonight, February 9 through 24 at the California Theatre, 345 South First Street in downtown San Jose.

The Pasadena Playhouse announced that Playhouse 'Angels' and current Board Members Mike Stoller and Corky Hale Stoller are the anonymous donors whose one million dollar gift in May 2010 was vital to The Playhouse's emergence from bankruptcy that summer. It inspired additional substantial donations as a part of a matching fundraising campaign.

Just announced is news that the Cole Porter classic, Can-Can, will kick up its heels in a new production to land on Broadway in Spring 2014. Presented by Jonathan Burrows, nephew of the musical's original book writer Abe Burrows, the new production features a revised book by David Lee (Two By Two and Gigi at Reprise, TV's "Frasier" and "Cheers") and Joel Fields (How I Fell in Love at Abingdon Theatre Company, TV's "Ugly Betty' and 'Raising the Bar'). Lee directs the production, featuring choreography byPatti Colombo (Peter Pan) and musical direction by Tony Award nominee Steve Orich (Jersey Boys). Prior to the Broadway production, a workshop will take place in New York in October 2013. Casting has yet to be confirmed.

Director John Nasca directs a cast that includes PFP Artistic Ensemble Members Michelle McKenzie-Voigt and Patrick Rybarczyk as Sandra and Tony, with Robert Hilliard as Jamie, Charlie Wein as Ste, and Kiah McKirnan as Leah.
