Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is presenting a unique event, "Continuing the Conversation: An Evening of Short Plays in Response to the Election," on Thursday, February 2 a 7:30 pm.

13th Street has - once again - become synonymous with cutting-edge powerful pieces focusing on the human experience. The latest is a great work of drama about one of the unsung heroes of history.

New Jersey Theatre Alliance (the Alliance), in partnership with the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and Newark Celebration 350, is embarking on a groundbreaking new play commission program, NJPAC Stage Exchange: The Commissions, working with three professional New Jersey theatres to produce original works by a talented trio of Garden State playwrights.

From 1992 to 1996, David Lee White was a local actor and director in the Pittsburgh theatre scene and was part of the University of Pittsburgh's MFA program. On Friday, January 15th at 8:00 PM, White will proudly return to Pittsburgh to perform his one-person show Panther Hollow at the Arcade Comedy Theater at 811 Liberty Avenue. In 2014, New Jersey Performing Arts Centerlaunched the Stage Exchange series, where cutting-edge new play development meets insightful community dialogue. Heading into its second year, NJPAC announces an inaugural commissioning program as part of the Stage Exchange. Following the commission period and staged reading at NJPAC, each play will receive a world premiere in the 2016-17 season at a New Jersey theater.

The One-Minute Play Festival (Dominic D'Andrea, Producing Artistic Director & Caitlin Wees, Associate Producer) and Luna Stage have created a dynamic partnership for The 5th New Jersey One-minute Play Festival with part of the proceeds to benefit new play programming at Luna Stage.

McCarter Theatre Center has announced the appointment of Adam Immerwahr as Associate Artistic Director. Immerwahr, a longtime McCarter staff member with a thriving directorial career, will support McCarter's Artistic Director, Emily Mann, in the planning and execution of the theater's artistic programming. His duties will also include directing for McCarter Theater's main stage, cultivating new works and identifying emerging artists, having primary responsibility for the day-to-day artistic oversight of McCarter's dramatic productions, and coordinating the selection and hiring of freelance artistic personnel.

Passage Theatre Company, Trenton's only professional theater company, will wrap up its 2011-2012 season with Slippery as Sin, running from May 17 to June 3. David Lee White's comic thriller will be directed by Adam Immerwahr - the same team that delivered the 2010 smash hit, Blood: A Comedy.
