Geva Theatre Center's 2014 Fielding Studio Series kicks off with Black Pearl Sings! by Frank Higgins. This production comes to Geva from The Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca and is directed by Sara Lampert Hoover. Fresh off a successful run in Ithaca, the Kitchen Theatre Company's production of Black Pearl Sings! is moving to the Geva Theatre Center in Rochester. It will be the first play in Geva's 2014 Fielding Studio Series, devoted to the work of contemporary playwrights.

The Kitchen Theatre Company's 23rd Season continues with a play set in the Great Depression, featuring a gripping story and gorgeous singing. The Kitchen is pleased to be producing the regional premiere of Black Pearl Sings! by Frank Higgins this December, with preview performances on December 4, 5, and 6. Opening Night is December 7th, and the play closes December 22.

Broadway's Kevin Cahoon as Dr. Frank-n-Furter will join the previously announced Nick Adams as Rocky, Nick Cearley as Brad, Jennifer Cody as Columbia, Alyssa DiPalma as Magenta, Jeremy Kushnier as Riff Raff, Lauren Molina as Janet, Steve Rosen as Dr. Scott/Eddie/Narrator, and a chorus of Phantoms comprising of Bucks County area locals including Sarah DeNight, Annabelle Garcia, Alex Kryger and Erica Nicole Rothman. 59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) will welcome kef theatrical productions THE AWAKE, written by Ken Urban and directed by Adam Fitzgerald. THE AWAKE begins performances tonight, August 22 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 8.

The newest musical to grace the stage at Bucks County Playhouse is SUMMER OF '42. This musical is based on the novel and 1971 film of the same name. Herman Raucher wrote the novel and screenplay. Hunter Foster (URINETOWN, HANDS ON A HARBODY) wrote the book for this musical and David Kirshenbaum wrote the music and lyrics. Foster also directs this production. SUMMER OF '42 is a coming of age story that reminds audiences about the innocence of youth. SUMMER OF '42 is a heartfelt story, and Bucks County Playhouse's production of this show is full of heart, humor, and heartbreak.

Prospect Theater Company's Off-Broadway production of UNLOCK'D closes its extended run today, July 20, 2013.
