The Bad Plus, a trio that the New York Times calls 'better than anyone at mixing the sensibilities of post-60's jazz and indie rock,' returns to the Blue Note from April 6 - 11. Featuring Ethan Iverson on piano, Reid Anderson and bass and Dave King on drums, The Bad Plus has released six albums to date. Their most recent effort, For All I Care (2009) included vocalist Wendy Lewis and featured covers of pop songs as well as 20th century classical works. All Music Guide calls the recording 'one of the most compelling releases yet by one of the new jazz's finest bands to emerge in the 21st century.'

The Off Broadway production of Alfred Preisser and Randy Weiner's CALIGULA MAXIMUS, at the Ellen Stewart Theatre, will be extended for one additional week to meet audience demand. CALIGULA MAXIMUS begins previews at the Ellen Stewart Theatre, 66 E. 4th St, in New York on March 12th and has been extended through April 10th. Opening night is set for March 19th, with scheduled performances on Thursday and Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 8pm and 10pm.

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2009-2010 Season with a revival of BETH HENLEY's Pulitzer Prize-winning play CRIMES OF THE HEART. It includes a fabulous kick-off party, a collection of dozens of true Miami Beach stories, diverse workshops, an art exhibit, book/play readings, jazz events, AND... a collaboration with composers and songwriters for an all-original, full musical in October 2010.
