Eighteen new one-act plays will receive world premieres as the Pittsburgh New Works Festival takes to the stage for the twenty-second time. The Festival will run August 19 through September 30 at the Father Ryan Arts Center (420 Chartiers Avenue) in McKees Rocks.

The policy will be a $20 cover charge plus a two drink minimum (which can be applied to food). Dinner at this fabled Italian restaurant will be served in the "Downstairs Grotto Room" before and during the performance. The capacity of the 'grotto" is 50 people.

Filmmaker Ira Sachs and Lily Binns have recently launched Queer/Art/Mentorship, a program that supports emerging queer working artists in New York City.

In the fall of 2001 the Whitney Museum presented an exhibition of Jacob Lawrence's work, including his sixty-panel Migration Series. A class of thirteen-year-old New York City students at The Calhoun School saw the exhibit. Influenced by Lawrence's portrayal of complex events in American history, the students collaboratively tackled the telling of their own recent history-the aftermath of 9/11 as they were experiencing it. This exhibition is the first public presentation of the series of thirty-one collages that they created. Ten years later, this visual narrative remains a moving and insightful testament to the personal and global impact of the World Trade Center attacks.

MTV has pulled the plug on 'The Hard Times of RJ Berger' after two seasons.
