WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Hosts Marriage Counselor Night Tonight

Producers of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, which began performances today, September 27, 2012, at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street), have announced that tonight, November 15, they will bring a group of marriage counselors and therapists in to see the production. Following the performance there will be a short talkback with members of the cast, director Pam MacKinnon and Jean Petrucelli, Ph.D., a well-known clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst. Dr. Petrucelli will discuss the many complex issues the play raises about marriage and relationships and why George and Martha, despite being a couple of the early 60s, still resonate with audiences today.

Steppenwolf Theatre Extends GOOD PEOPLE Through November 18

By popular demand, Steppenwolf Theatre Company adds an additional performance to the subversively funny hit season opener, Good People by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by ensemble member K. Todd Freeman. The production now closes on Sunday, November 18 at 3pm, with the original cast of six intact.

Casting is complete for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's upcoming production of Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party, under the direction of ensemble member Austin Pendleton. Ensemble member Kevin Anderson joins the previously announced cast: ensemble members Ian Barford, Francis Guinan, Moira Harris and John Mahoney with Sophia Sinise. The Birthday Party begins performances January 24, 2013 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Opening night is February 3, 2013; press performances are February 2 at 3pm and February 5 at 7:30pm. Tickets ($20 - $78) go on sale at a later date.

The Book Thief is staged by Hallie Gordon in partnership with Chicago Public Library's One Book, One Chicago and the citywide, season-long Now Is The Time initiative with Chicago Public Library, Facing History and Ourselves and other local cultural organizations. Broadway's WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Extends Through February 24, 2013

Producers of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? have announced that the 50th anniversary Broadway revival has been extended, and is now on sale through February 24, 2013. The production, which was originally on sale through January 27, 2013, officially opened on October 13, 2012, at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street), exactly 50 years to the day of the play's original Broadway opening on Saturday, October 13, 1962.
