Photo Flash: First Look at Jeff Daniels and Michelle Williams in BLACKBIRD on Broadway!

Opening night is Thursday, March 10, for David Harrower's BLACKBIRD, the Olivier Award-winning drama starring Jeff Daniels and Michelle Williams, and directed by Joe Mantello. BLACKBIRD is playing at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) for an 18-week limited engagement through June 11, 2016. Previews began Friday, February 5. THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR to Play Birmingham Repertory Theatre

A vibrant new staging of the great Russian comedy, The Government Inspector, opens at Birmingham Repertory Theatre in March before touring to Ipswich, Leeds, Nottingham, Stratford East, Liverpool and Sheffield.  Directed by Roxana Silbert and adapted by Olivier Award-winning playwright, David Harrower, this fresh, modern version of The Government Inspector, with innovative projection and set design reinvigorates Gogol's satirical masterpiece for 2016.

A friendly reminder! Previews begin tomorrow, Friday, February 5 at 8 PM for David Harrower's BLACKBIRD, the Olivier Award-winning drama starring Jeff Daniels and Michelle Williams at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street). A limited number of general rush tickets priced at $32 each will be available at the box office on the day of the performance.

Ancient and Modern Classics Take the Stage at Citizens Theatre This Spring

The Citizens Theatre today announces its complete Spring 2016 Season, including a trilogy of new plays by Zinnie Harris, inspired by the epic Greek tragedy The Oresteia. The season also includes a new production of Frank McGuinness' classic play Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of The Somme and a new production of Beckett's iconic play Endgame featuring David Neilson and Chris Gascoyne.

Lucy Prebble's THE EFFECT to Open at Barrow Street Theatre Next Spring; David Cromer to Direct

The National Theatre of Great Britain's North American wing (Tim Levy, Producer) in collaboration with Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian, Tom Wirtshafter, and Patrick Daly have announced the North American premiere of playwright Lucy Prebble's award-winning new play The Effect. With direction by David Cromer, the entirely American production of The Effect will open at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street at 7th Avenue) in March 2016. Additional information will be announced shortly.

Box Office to Open Monday for BLACKBIRD, Starring Jeff Daniels and Michelle Williams; $20 Balcony Seats!

The Belasco Theatre box office (111 West 44th Street) will open on Monday, December 14 for David Harrower's BLACKBIRD, the Olivier Award-winning drama, starring Jeff Daniels and Michelle Williams. The production, to be directed by Joe Mantello, will begin previews Friday, February 5, and open Thursday, March 10. BLACKBIRD will play an 18-week limited engagement through June 12, 2016. For one week only, from Monday December 14 through Saturday December 19, ticket buyers can purchase $20 balcony seats for all performances.

Traverse Welcomes Four Emerging Theatre Companies for Hothouse 2015 This Week

The Edinburgh-based theatre companies and performers who will present work at this year's Traverse Hothouse showcase are set. They are Urban Fox, Heather Marshall, Melanie Jordan & Caitlin Skinner and Trig Point. They will perform their work in Traverse 2 this week, 10 - 13 November. The pieces are at various stages of development and audience input is being sought by the artists as part of their development process.

Birmingham Repertory Theatre Sets 2016 Season

The new Spring and Summer 2016 season also features a ground-breaking new production of The Government Inspector, Don Warrington as King Lear, plus a major revival of Alan Bennett's Single Spies alongside a compelling mix of drama, comedy and family shows.

UNCLE VANYA Opens Tonight at Antaeus Theatre Company

Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya bursts with passion and fierce humor in Pulitzer Prize and three-time Obie Award-winning playwright Annie Baker's colloquial translation, adapted from a literal translation by Margarita Shalina and the original Russian text. The Antaeus Theatre Company presents the West Coast premiere of Baker's fresh new version, hailed as one of the top 10 shows of 2012 by both The New York Times and New York magazine, in a fully partner-cast production. Robin Larsen directs for tonight's October 15 opening at the Antaeus Theater in NoHo.
