Tony Winner 'Take Me Out' At Rising Action Theatre

Playwright Richard Greenberg won a Tony Award for Best Play 2003 for Take Me Out. Take Me Out traveled from London to New York in the first co-production of the Donmar Warehouse and The Public Theater, and then transferred to Broadway. He is the author of over 25 plays including 8 South Coast Repertory World Premieres: The Violet Hour, Three Days of Rain (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, Pulitzer Prize finalist, Olivier, Drama Desk and Hull-Warriner nominations), and The Extra Man. He is a winner of the Oppenheimer Award and the first winner of the PEN/Laura Pels Award for a playwright in mid-career.

The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), in association with the National New Play Network and the National Center for New Plays at Stanford University, will host the fourth annual MFA Playwrights' Workshop, July 25 to August 2, 2009. Eight playwrights have been invited, selected from 57 Master of Fine Art graduate students nominated by the heads of playwriting programs across the nation.

Sound familiar? Associate Artist John Langs returns to Seattle Shakespeare Company to stage The Merchant of Venice at the Center House Theatre. With a low-priced preview on March 12, The Merchant of Venice opens on Friday, March 13 and will run through April 5.

He is the author The Muckle Man, which earned two Helen Hayes Award nominations, including The Charles MacArthur Award for Best New Play. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama. A Glittering Salute To The American Musical'- Career Transition For Dancers' 23rd Anniversary Jubilee on Monday, October 27 at 7:00 pm at New York City Center, 131 West 55 Street (bet. 7 & 6 Aves). Multi award-winning actress Angela Lansbury hosted the Gala, which was followed by an Anniversary Supper with the Stars at Hilton New York's Grand Ballroom. It was a capacity filled performance at New York City Center and there were 713 guests for Anniversary Supper with the Stars at the Hilton New York's Grand Ballroom. The total amount including live auction, performance only tickets at City Center and all pledges and monies in is: $1,085,000.
