For four magical nights this week, the Mabel Mercer Foundation will present a sparkling array of America's leading cabaret stars. Among the 60 outstanding artists who will take the stage at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center from today, October 7th through 10th are multiple Grammy Award winner Jack Jones, Marilyn Maye, Steve Ross, Karen Akers, Nellie McKay, and Barbara Carroll.

BILL NIMKIN: 25 Years of Printmaking at Manhattan Graphics Center, a retrospective exhibition, will open with a reception today, September 28, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

ANNA NICOLE tells the story of Anna Nicole Smith, a small-town Texas waitress (and later, exotic dancer) in pursuit of the American Dream. The 3 Tenors, Bill Brooks, Edd Clark, and Stephen Tharp are back, and expanding the boundaries of the American Songbook. For one night only, the tenors are celebrating the songs of American composers from Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil to Ned Rorem, from Christine Lavin to Samuel Barber and Ernest Gold, current composers, Paul Stephan and David Cisco, and throwing in just a little dash of Charles Ives.

Midsommer Flight will bring free Shakespeare in the Park back to the north side this summer with the beloved tragedy Romeo and Juliet, opening at the end of July. Dedicated to presenting outdoor performances of Shakespeare's plays, Midsommer Flight is proud to produce the play as an arts partner with the Chicago Park District.

LiveWire Chicago Theatre 'gets technical' at VisionFest 5: Johnny 5 Is Alive, ten short plays inspired by technology's influence on society (or what happens when things short circuit). The fifth annual festival will be presented now through August 2, 2013 at INTUIT - The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Each play will be staged in a different area of the multi-room gallery, with drinking and mingling encouraged as audiences move from play to play. An inventive force in the cabaret world for over 30 years, last year Rosemary Loar was honored with the 2012 MAC Hanson Award for continuing excellence.

Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW presents Bernard Shaw's madcap comedy TOO TRUE TO BE GOOD at 7pm at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan. David Staller produces and directs.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, written by Christopher Durang, today won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award (NYDCC) for Best Play of the 2012-2013 season. Matilda received the award for Best Musical. The selections were made at the 78th annual voting meeting of the organization today at the offices of Time Out New York in Manhattan.

Promethean Theatre Ensemble presents a world premier adaptation of A Study in Scarlet, the novella that introduced the world to the beloved Sherlock Holmes. A Study in Scarlet will be adapted and directed by Paul Edwards. The company will feature PTE Ensemble Members David Fink, Nick Lake, and Brian Pastor. Guest artists will include Elaine Carlson, Jared Dennis, Richard Furin, Kevin Gladish, Evan Johnson, Ed Kuffert, Drew Longo, Cathlyn Melvin, and Dave Skvarla.
