THE FALL, one of the Baxter Theatre Centre's impressive showcase of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions at the 2017 Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland this August, was awarded the Fringe First at this year's Scotsman Awards.

One of three plays by writer-director Lara Foot, KAROO MOOSE - NO FATHERS, forms part of the Baxter Theatre Centre's impressive showcase of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions at the 2017 Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland this August.

The international premiere of Lara Foot's THE INCONVENIENCE OF WINGS, which has played three successful seasons in its country of origin, South Africa, takes place as part of the Baxter Theatre Centre's impressive showcase of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions at the 2017 Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland this August.

Writer-director Lara Foot's TSHEPANG: THE THIRD TESTAMENT, a play that rocked South African and shocked the world, forms part of the South African showcase at the 2017 Edinburgh Assembly Fringe Festival in Scotland. The impressive total of six award-winning and cutting-edge productions is presented by the Baxter Theatre Centre.

Outstanding ballet will once again grace South African stages when the much anticipated SAIBC INTERNATIONAL BALLET GALA takes place this September in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

The Artscape Theatre Centre will host the first Capetonian performances of the contemporary South African classic, AT HER FEET as a part of the Artscape's Women's Festival this week. South Africa, says the note in the programme of STATE FRACTURE, is 'a country that keeps on giving as far as satirical material is concerned.' What a pity, then, that the humour in STATE FRACTURE never transcends the comic to become satire.

An award-winning team will present the premiere of RED ALOES, an exciting new production at the Magnet Theatre this August. Written and directed by Themba Stewart, RED ALOES melds poetic text with image-based language to explore a rarely documented time in South Africa's history.
