Despite the objections of their loved ones (Huey's close-minded mama and Felicia's cautious brother, the club owner), they embark on a dangerous affair. As their careers rise, the relationship is challenged by personal ambition and the pressures of an outside world that is just unable to accept their love. Will their love be able to withstand the trials of separation, greed and fame? This hot and bothered Broadway musical is filled with heart, soul and energy to burn! MEMPHIS, the 2010 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical, is playing at The Morris Performing Arts Center March 20 and 21.

The Fox Performing Arts Center (Fox PAC), in Riverside, will host the rollicking musical MEMPHIS, winner of the 2010 Best Musical Tony Award. The show features a Tony winning score by Bon Jovi's founding member and keyboardist David Bryan, lyrics by Bryan and Joe DiPietro, and book by Joe DiPietro. MEMPHIS will play three performances at Fox PAC, on Friday and Saturday, February 13th and 14th. The story focuses on the music scene in the 1950's south as Huey Calhoun, a white, illiterate DJ, struggles to introduce musical styles previously enjoyed only by black people to his white radio audience.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that THE TOXIC AVENGER, a musical which ran off Broadyway in 2009, might be heading to Broadway at last. A revised version of the musical ran at Houston's Alley Theatre in 2012, with hopes of a Broadway transfer. The project was directed by John Rando and featured music by Bon Jovi founding member and keyboardist David Bryan and Joe DiPietro.

Producers of Memphis THE MUSICAL, which recently celebrated its 100th performance at the Shaftesbury Theatre, recently announced that the Original London Cast Album is now available to purchase online for download. The CD will be available from 9 February at the Shaftesbury Theatre and via First Night Records. The Original London Cast Album is produced by First Night Records and Grammy Award-winning David Bryan. Mr. Bryan, a founding member of Bon Jovi, wrote the original score to Memphis THE MUSICAL with Joe DiPietro who wrote the book.
