The Flea Premieres I SEE YOU Tonight Off-Broadway

The Flea presents the World Premiere of I SEE YOU by Kate Robin. This romantic comedy will be directed by Flea Artistic Director Jim Simpson. Previews of this limited run Off-Broadway engagement begin tonight, November 7 with opening slated for Sunday, November 16.

Asylum Theater Extends WOMEN Thru 11/14

Combined Artform and Matthew Quinn's WOMEN has added four additional performances: November 1st, 6th, 13th & 14th - 8:00PM. It officially opened September 5th. After a sold-out run in New York City and the Hollywood Fringe Festival, WOMEN, written by Chiara Atik and directed by Stephanie Ward, is returning to Los Angeles for a full run at the Asylum Theater, August 28th through October 25th.

LCT3's 'BROWNSVILLE SONG' Opens Tonight

The LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of brownsville song (b-side for tray), a new play by Kimber Lee, directed by Patricia McGregor, makes its New York premiere at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street), featuring Sheldon Best, Sun Mee Chomet, Lizan Mitchell, Chris Myers and Taliyah Whitaker. The show opens tonight, October 20, and will play a 6-week limited engagement through Sunday, November 16.

Stages Repertory Theatre Opens MARIE ANTOINETTE Tonight

Stages Repertory Theatre will present MARIE ANTOINETTE by David Adjmi, today, October 8 - November 2, 2014. Produced in cooperation with the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance, the play will be directed by Leslie Swackhamer and stars Emily Neves in the title role.

LCT3's BROWNSVILLE SONG Begins Previews this Weekend

Tennessee Williams Biographer John Lahr Coming to Steppenwolf, 10/13

Steppenwolf Theatre Company Artistic Director Martha Lavey engages in conversation with John Lahr about his latest book, Tennessee Williams: Mad Pilgrimage of the Flesh in a special one-night-only event, Monday, October 13 at 7pm in the Downstairs Theatre. Lahr, who served as senior drama critic for The New Yorker for more than two decades, recently released his twentieth book, an authoritative, extraordinary biography on Tennessee Williams that invites intimate access into the mind of a playwright whose work reshaped the American theater. Woolly Mammoth to Present MARIE ANTOINETTE, 9/15-10/12

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company announces the first offering of its 35th season: David Adjmi's Marie Antoinette, a highly contemporary look at the famously iconic and controversial queen of France, from her growing celebrity to her ultimate demise at the hands of those who had once extolled her. Woolly Company Member Kimberly Gilbert will take on the role of Marie in a production directed by new Woolly Company Member Yury Urnov, who last directed at Woolly in 2012, with the World Premiere production of You For Me For You. Marie Antoinette will run from Monday, September 15 to Sunday, October 12, 2014.

Sheldon Best, Sun Mee Chomet, Lizan Mitchell, Chris Myers and Taliyah Whitaker will comprise the cast of the upcoming LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater New York premiere production of brownsville song (b-side for tray), a new play by Kimber Lee. The production, to be directed by Patricia McGregor, will begin performances Saturday, October 4, running for six weeks only through Sunday, November 16 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, October 20.

WOMEN to Open 9/5 at Asylum Theater

Combined Artform and Matthew Quinn present the return of "WOMEN" - with an official opening of September 5th. After a sold-out run in New York City and the Hollywood Fringe Festival, WOMEN, written by Chiara Atik and directed by Stephanie Ward, is returning to Los Angeles for a full run at the Asylum Theater, August 28th through October 25th.

Meghan Pressman Named New Managing Director of Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company has announced the appointment of Meghan Pressman as Managing Director. Previously, Pressman served as the Director of Development for New York City's Signature Theatre, a $12 million nonprofit Off-Broadway theatre organization, which exists to honor and celebrate the playwright. Pressman will begin her tenure at Woolly Mammoth at the beginning of Season 35 on Monday, September 15, 2014.

Jen Silverman's THE MOORS to Continue Irish Rep's Reading Series, 7/28

The Irish Repertory Theatre, which 'encourages the development of works focusing on the Irish and Irish American experience, as well as a range of other cultures,' continues the eighth season of its Reading Series with Jen Silverman's play The Moors, directed by Jackson Gay. The reading will take place on Monday, July 28 at 3pm on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage of the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 W. 22nd Street). The reading is FREE and open to the public. Soho Rep. Meets Fundraising Goal Following Cancelled Gala

On March 31, 300 friends, artists and supporters gathered to celebrate and honor Soho Rep.'s Board Chair Jon Dembrow at their annual spring gala. Forty-five minutes into the evening, the beam supporting a second-story balcony at the event venue, Angel Orensanz Center, cracked. The building was deemed unsafe and all the guests were evacuated by the FDNY. The cancellation of the event and on-site auction left Soho Rep. with a projected end-of-the-fiscal-year deficit of $68,000.

Woolly Mammoth to Reunite Original Cast and Creative Team for STUPID F##KING BIRD Remount, 7/28-8/17

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company is bringing back the bird and reuniting the entire cast and creative team of Aaron Posner's Stupid f**king Bird after its runaway success in the summer of 2013. Nominated for eight Helen Hayes Awards and winner for Outstanding Resident Play and Outstanding New Play or Musical, Stupid f**king Bird is directed by Woolly Artistic Director Howard Shalwitz and runs for three weeks: July 28, 2014 through August 17, 2014.

Steppenwolf Announces Casting for THE NIGHT ALIVE, 9/18-11/16

Casting is complete for Steppenwolf Theatre Company's Chicago-premiere production of The Night Alive by Conor McPherson. Henry Wishcamper directs a cast featuring ensemble members Francis Guinan and Tim Hopper with Helen Sadler, Dan Waller and M. Emmet Walsh. The world premiere of The Night Alive was produced at the Donmar Warehouse in 2013. The Night Alive begins previews September 18, 2014 (opening night is September 28; press performances are September 27 at 3pm and September 30 at 7:30pm) and runs through November 16, 2014 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St).
