New Classical Series at London's Iconic Central Synagogue to Launch with Violist David Aaron Carpenter, 7/8

Great Portland Street's iconic Central Synagogue, the famous venue, will host world-class classical musicians in series that gives Jewish perspectives on the great composers. The series is founded by Inverne Price Music Consultancy and renowned cantor Steven Leas. Viola star David Aaron Carpenter and soloists of the New York Salome Chamber Orchestra will play July 8th launch event, in their UK debut.

The Public Theater previously announced TALKING ABOUT RACE: SCIENCE, POLITICS, ART 1959-1970-2014, a two-night Public Forum event this weekend, today, May 30 and Saturday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. in The Public's Anspacher Theater. Presented with Anna Deavere Smith Works at The Aspen Institute, The American Museum of Natural History and with in-kind support from the Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue at New York University, these two exciting evenings will combine performances of provocative historic conversations about race with an unscripted modern sequel.

Metropolitan Museum Announces 2012-13 Performances and Talks, Renamed Met Museum Presents

The Metropolitan Museum of Art today unveiled the 2012-13 season of Met Museum Presents, its newly-renamed series of performances and talks. This is the first full season to be programmed by Concerts & Lectures General Manager Limor Tomer, who assumed her post at the Met in July 2011. The program offers interpretations of and reflections on the Museum's collection, special exhibitions, and tradition through the work of some of today's most celebrated composers and performing artists.

Caissie Levy & David Reiser to Marry Tonight

Caissie Shira Levy, daughter of Lisa Levy and Dr. Mark Levy of Hamilton, Ontario, will marry David Aaron Reiser, a son of Linda Reiser and Dr. Robert A. Reiser of Tallahassee, Fla. on Sunday evening according to the New York Times. Rabbi Stanley J. Garfein will officiate at the Soho Beach House in Miami Beach, with Daniel H. Reiser, the brother of the bridegroom and a rabbinical student, taking part in the ceremony.

Fountain House, an internationally recognized organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with mental illness, last night hosted a staged reading of Daughter of the Queen of Sheba, headlining celebrated actresses Joan Allen and Lauren Ambrose, with appearances by noted actor and screenwriter Dan Futterman and theatre, film and television actor David AaRon Baker. The one-night-only performance, based upon the acclaimed memoir by NPR'sJacki Lyden that recounts her experience growing up with a colorful and dramatic mother living with manic depression, drew a full house to the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, located at 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues in New York City. Lyden served as Narrator of the performance, which employed slides to illustrate the action. The evening benefitted Fountain House, with support from NPR. Check out a photo from the event below!
