The Muny announced today the complete cast for its production of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn. Based on the 1942 film, Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn features music and lyrics by Irving Berlin with a book by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge. Greenberg will direct the Muny production with choreography by Denis Jones. Musical direction is by James Moore, vocal and dance arrangements are by Sam Davis with additional arrangements by Bruce Pomahac, and orchestrations by Larry Blank. The Muny's production of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn is its second production worldwide.
All Dancing! All Singing! is the first Lyrics & Lyricists dance revue, celebrating Irving Berlin's contributions to Hollywood musicals. Artistic director/choreographer Randy Skinner directed a cast of hand-picked young vocalists/dancers -- Darien Crago, Danny Gardner, Drew Humphrey, Kristie Kerwin, Con O'Shea-Creal and Kristen Beth Williams -- who were joined by veterans Sandy Duncan and Don Correia as special guests and Broadwayworld was there. Greetings once again from East Haddam, CT, home of the Goodspeed Opera House and the world premiere production of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn. This is our last week up here, and therefore my last blog. Don't be too sad though. I will be recapping the new season of "The Bachelor" beginning in January for BroadwayWorld! Every. Single. Week. Thanks to the efforts of the cast of Irving Berlin's HOLIDAY INN and the generosity of our Goodspeed's audience members, the theatre company has raised $23,935.58 this holiday season for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, it was announced today.
Obvious statement: relationships are hard. Like, real hard. But throw in some out-of-sync schedules, mix in a little 'gotta kiss some random person who is not my significant other cause it's my job', and finish it off with anywhere from hundreds to thousands of miles between the two of you, and it becomes near impossible. Hence, the long distance relationship is born. AKA the LDR, as us peeps in the business say. Or maybe only I do. Or maybe I just made that up because I type with three fingers and I'm already getting tired.
