The New School for Drama will welcome Naked Angels, the eclectic downtown theater company, as its producing partner, training young theater artists in an environment of experimentation and collaboration. Naked Angels will be housed in New School facilities and provide undergraduate and graduate theater students a critical professional association with working artists in New York theater.

Lincoln Center Theater has just announced that Betsy Aidem, Blair Brown, Michael Cerveris, Anthony Cochrane, Lauren Culpepper, Alvin Epstein, Kathryn Erbe, John Glover, Jennifer B. Grace, Katie Kreisler, Stephen Kunken, Haviland Morris, Dale Place, John Procaccino, Garth Saxe and Alan Schmuckler will be featured in the 18-member cast of its upcoming world premiere production of NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS, a new play by Richard Nelson.
According to the New York Times, the Trustees of The Laurents/Hatcher Foundation, Inc. have announced that "A Kid Like Jake" has been selected for the 2013 LAURENTS / HATCHER FOUNDATION AWARD. The foundation will provide a $50,000 cash award to playwright Daniel Pearleand a grant of $100,000 to go directly towards the production costs of the play's premiere at LCT3 in June.

The production will begin previews on Thursday, March 21 and open on Monday, April 15 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45 Street). Additional casting for THE NANCE will be announced at a later date.

The Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 production of DISGRACED, the new play by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Kimberly Senior, has been extended for a second time through Sunday, December 23 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). The production, which features Heidi Armbruster, Erik Jensen, Aasif Mandvi, Omar Maskati and Karen Pittman, was originally scheduled to run through November 18 and was then extended through Sunday December 2. DISGRACED is produced by arrangement with the Araca Group.

LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences, has announced two new productions which will open in 2013: Luck of the Irish, a new play by Kirsten Greenidge, to be directed by Rebecca Taichman and A Kid Like Jake by Daniel Pearle, to be directed by Evan Cabnet. Luck of the Irish will run from Monday, January 28 through Sunday, March 10 (opening on Monday, February 11) and A Kid Like Jake will run from Sunday, June 2 through Sunday, July 14 (opening on Monday, June 17), both at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).
Six plays have been chosen by Samuel French, Inc. as the winning scripts from the 36th Annual Samuel French, Inc. Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival, which concluded Sunday, July 24th in The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row.
