Canadian Stage continues its 2009-2010 season with the world premiere of Necessary Angel's This Is What Happens Next. The one-man show is the highly anticipated new collaboration from Daniel MacIvor and Daniel Brooks, one of the most potent and influential partnerships in Canadian theatre. Together they have created such legendary solo shows as House (1991), Here Lies Henry (1994), Monster (1998) and Cul-de-sac (2003).

London's Finborough Theatre will present THREE SEAGULLS, three staged readings complementing the London premiere production of The Notebook of Trigorin. The three works scheduled for readings are THE SEAGULL, HIS GREATNESS, and PIETA.

The Canadian Stage TD Dream in High Park presents Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare's timeless tale of ill-fated lovers and feuding families. Jeff Irving stars as Romeo (Ross Petty's Robin Hood, Mirvish Productions' Sound of Music and Canadian Stage/Citadel Theatre's The December Man /L'homme de décembre) and Christine Horne stars as Juliet (The Stone Angel with Ellen Burstyn and KICK Theatre's Miss Julie: Sheh'mah).

Alumnae Theatre Company is inviting interested directors to submit proposals for any of the following shows, which are part of our 2010/2011 season.

MONSTER is a revelatory theatrical experience which peels back the layers of humanity to reveal what's at the core of human experience. The multi-character format intertwines 16 diverse characters surrounding a vengeful, blood-curdling, torturous murder. MONSTER shatters the 4th wall, engages the audience and ultimately demands they confront their fundamental beliefs.

We start out with a 'Sizzling Summer of Siblings' and two back-to-back shows exploring that unique relationship-first between brothers, then among sisters-in two very different works - Sam Shepard's True West followed by Canadian Daniel MacIvor's Marion Bridge. Both shows at Union Station's H&R Block City Stage.

terraNOVA Collective will honor Nilaja Sun as the 2010 soloNOVA Artist of the Year on May 21 at 8pm in the Downstairs Theater at Performance Space 122 as part of the 7th Annual soloNOVA Arts Festival. Join us as we celebrate the career of Nilaja Sun as a performer and arts educator, featuring performances by students, clips from her Obie Award winning solo play, No Child... food and drink, and special surprises. Maieutic Theatre Works (MTWorks) is pleased to present the world premiere of David Stallings? BARRIER ISLAND, directed by Cristina Alicea. BARRIER ISLAND will play a 4-week limited engagement at Center Stage NY (48 West 21st Street, 4th Floor, Buzzer 401#). Performances begin Friday, April 30th through Saturday, May 22nd.
