New this year will be the Gala's move to Saturday evening instead of Monday night as in past seasons. World renowned Broadway Musical set designer and Multiple Tony Award / Drama Desk Award Winner Tony Walton joins The Encore for part of the summer! Mr. Walton is guest directing My Fair Lady, starring Jessica Grove and Daniel Gerroll, and co-directed By Daniel C. Cooney. MY FAIR LADY is now running through August 28, 2016. Walton and Grove worked together several times previously and Walton has referred to Jessica as 'his muse'. Tony Walton was also the first husband of Julie Andrews.
Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of "Scotland Road," a mystery/thriller involving a woman who may be a survivor of the Titanic, on Monday, February 8, at 7 p.m. Written by Jeffrey Hatcher, the play will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Peter Shaffer's incredibly intriguing examination of the demise and death of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the hands of Court Composer Antonio Salieri in 1791 Vienna is at the core of Amadeus, which premiered in London in 1979, went on to win a Tony Award as Best Play of 1981 and also an Oscar for the reinvented film version in 1984. It is well reputed that Shaffer used artistic license in creating the play and movie as Mozart and Salieri were never official rivals/foes, but, yes or no, it certainly makes for divinely pleasant theatricality, now in a handsome revival at ETC in Santa Barbara through October 26.
