Not discouraged by their first outing, Variety Show on a Weekday comes roaring back with its distinct brand of short plays, songs, dances and animal acts* for three days this July at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe (Tuesday, July 12th - Thursday, July 14th)
Every once in a while a show comes out that will transform the face of theater, both in New York and around the world. This is not that show. It is a loose collection of scenes and songs from some of today's most local writers.

New dramatic works by Tony-winning playwright John Guare (House of Blue Leaves, Six Degrees of Separation) and dramatist, screenwriter and film director Neil LaBute (In the Company of Men, The Shape of Things and Reasons to be Pretty) highlight a three-night festival of new short plays and monologues at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe (236 East 3rd Street). Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Cafe's literacy and afterschool programs, which serve thousands of students from disadvantaged communities.

On Sunday October 5th, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) concluded its fifth year, a year which featured 24 full productions, a dance series, a developmental series, concerts and special events.
