The 55th Annual Village Voice OBIE Awards were presented on Monday, May 17, 2010, at a ceremony held at Webster Hall in Manhattan. Co-hosted by Michael Cerveris and former OBIE winner Anika Noni Rose, the awards were presented by J. On May 13 Dan Le Franc was awarded the 2010 New York Times Outstanding Playwright Away for isplay SIXTY MILES TO SILVER LAKE. During the ceremony Arthur Sulzberger, Jr, publisher of the New York Times presented Le Franc the award and a check for $5,000.
Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that its critically-acclaimed production of The Aliens, by Annie Baker, will play five (5) additional performances through Saturday, May 29th. Performances began on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 and the show officially opened on Thursday, April 22nd. Originally scheduled to run through May 23rd, the show will now play through Saturday, May 29, 2010.
According to a report by Variety, HBO's 'In Treatment' will be welcoming Dane DeHaan to an episode in the upcoming third season. DeHaan will appear as one of Gabriel Byrne's patients in the new season, which is set to begin production soon in New York. Season three will begin later this year on HBO.

Michael Urie ('Ugly Betty', 'The Tempermentals') is headlining a reading of Brian Sloan's 'WTC View' on November 22nd at the historic Player's Theatre in Greenwich Village. The play was originally staged as part of the 2003 NY Intl. Fringe Festival , with Urie originating the lead role. It was adapted into a 2006 film, directed by Sloan, a New York-based writer/filmmaker ('Boys Life', 'I Think I Do'). Now, the play is back on stage with its eye on a 2011 production in New York City for the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
