Mad Cat Presents NOSTALGIA PART 1: BE KIND, REWIND

Mad Cat finishes up its 18th season with it's a new iteration of the popular MIXTAPE short form performance series, entitled: NOSTALGIA Part 1: Be Kind, Rewind. This mixed media production aims to darkly satirize white male nostalgia and the American tendency to yearn for a past that may not have been as great as those who pine for it remember. NOSTALGIA Part 1 will feature short form performances that implement live music, puppetry, and film all hosted by "Mr. Ringo" a hypermodern twist on a Mister Rogers-esque character

Eugene Ionesco's 'The Chairs'

Although written in 1952, 'The Chairs' did not run on Broadway until 1998, earning several Tony Award nominations. One of Ionesco's most popular plays, 'The Chairs' was first performed in Paris. It was soon praised for its unique style and became a defining example of Theatre of the Absurd - a literary philosophy that emphasized the absurdity and futility of the human condition.

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks announced Eugene O'Neill's last completed drama, 'A Moon for the Misbegotten' will kick off its 9th anniversary season on Friday, October 17th (8PM) at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard.) The 2008-09 slate of productions will continue with a distinguished roster of plays including 'The Chairs' by Eugene Ionesco, 'The Weir' by Conor McPherson and the Florida premiere production of 'At Home At The Zoo' by Edward Albee.
