Hey BroadwayWorld-ers! Welcome to Runyonland! My name is Noah Plomgren and I'm currently playing Benny Southstreet in Guys & Dolls at the gorgeous Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Connecticut. I will be one of your guest bloggers over the next few weeks, giving you an inside look at the beauty and madness of our little show.

The Frank Loesser classic is onn stage in Chambersburg, as sharp and sassy as ever

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis -- Tania Camargo, Managing Director; Patricia Wolff, Interim Artistic Director; James D'Asaro, Interim Producing Director) announce Artistic Advisors and programming for the 2015-2016 Season, opening October 1-3 with Twyla Tharp: a 50th Anniversary Celebration, a program of new work by Ms. Tharp, co-commissioned by The Wallis (in partnership with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Joyce Theatre, Ravina Festival Association & Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University and Texas International Theatrical Arts Society).

The current production of GUYS AND DOLLS at Goodspeed is infectious, fast, and smart. It does Frank Loesser's topnotch score justice, nailing the balance between vocalists and the pit orchestra, letting us enjoy both the witty lyrics and memorable tunes of so many of the best songs ever written for musical theater.

Tickets are already flying like loaded dice, as theater fans snatch up seats for Guys and Dolls, which will run May 21-June 14 at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.

Goodspeed Musicals kicks off its 2015 season at the Goodspeed Opera House with the Broadway classic Guys and Dolls. Roll the dice on this winning musical comedy running now through June 20 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. Opening night is tonight, April 28, 2015.

At its best, GUYS AND DOLLS will transport you to another time and place. A place where career criminals wear colorful, oddly-patterned suits; speak with humorous, but non-descript accents; and live lives in which their marker is their more sacred than gold. This place is called Runyonland. Unfortunately, as entertaining as Rollins College's production of this classic 'Musical Fable' is, it rarely ever rises to the Runyonland level. Running through Sunday, April 26th at the Annie Russell Theatre, Rollins' GUYS AND DOLLS is enjoyable, and again affirms why the program is one of the most consistent theatre companies in Central Florida, but lacks the joy and whimsy that makes GUYS AND DOLLS one of the greatest examples of the American musical theatre.

Surprise! This brand new, non-equity national tour of GUYS AND DOLLS---currently onstage at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts for a limited week-long run through April 19---is a winning, nicely-nicely done charmer. Of course, it helps a lot that this traveling production comes equipped with Broadway-caliber sets and costumes and, most satisfying of all, a really talented, engaging ensemble cast.

Today in 1992, the second Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls opened at the Martin Beck Theatre (now the Al Hirschfeld Theatre), where it ran for 1143 performances. Guys and Dolls is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. It is based on 'The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown' and 'Blood Pressure', two short stories by Damon Runyon, and also borrows characters and plot elements from other Runyon stories, most notably 'Pick the Winner'. Premiering on Broadway in 1950, the original production ran for 1200 performances and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical has had several Broadway and London revivals, as well as a 1955 film adaptation starring Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine.

Olney Theatre Center, a mid-Atlantic destination for professional theater performance and education, proudly announces two world premieres, two legendary musicals, a classic thriller, and a rotating rep of Gilbert & Sullivan as part of its 10-play 78th season, the company's largest.
