The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for ROBOT PLANET RISING: An Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel, sequel to last season's The Intergalactic Nemesis, Target Earth, will go on sale Today, October 13 at 10 a.m. ROBOT PLANET RISING brings this new form of theatre to Dallas March 23 through March 25, 2017 (4 shows) at the Wyly Theatre in the downtown Dallas Arts District.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced complete casting for RANCHO VIEJO, the world premiere of a new play by Dan LeFranc (The Big Meal at Playwrights, Sixty Miles to Silver Lake, In the Labyrinth) and directed by three-time Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin (Placebo, This at Playwrights; Fool For Love; Bad Jews; 4000 Miles; [sic]). Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons, RANCHO VIEJO will be the third production of the theater company's 2016/2017 Season.

There are few things in the world as thrilling as seeing a new work come to life on stage, especially when that stage is the Dallas Theater Center's Wyly Theatre, our local answer to Broadway-caliber theatre. The anticipation and possibility of being the first one to discover a new hit is so exciting - but it is balanced by the opportunity for a show to be unexceptional or 'not ready for primetime.' BELLA: AN AMERICAN TALL TALE, in this writer's opinion, falls into the latter category.
