The "most famous reindeer of all" from the longest-running and highest rated holiday television special will be live on stage with the critically acclaimed RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER: THE MUSICAL at Bass Performance Hall November 22 and 23, for four performances presented by Performing Arts Fort Worth. This fun family classic will then head to Dallas, where it will play at the Music Hall at Fair Park November 25-27, for five performances presented by Dallas Summer Musicals.

Last week, BroadwayWorld announced that Rachelle Ann Go and Devin Ilaw will be joining the highly anticipated revival of MISS SAIGON this spring. 

Rachelle Ann Go (as Gigi) and Devin Ilaw (as Thuy) have joined the cast of Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON, which begins performances Wednesday, March 1 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway). Directed by Laurence Connor (LES MISERABLES, School of Rock), the Broadway return of MISS SAIGON will feature its American stars, Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer and 20-year-old Eva Noblezada as Kim, who created their roles in the West End to great acclaim. Opening night for MISS SAIGON will be Thursday, March 23. MISS SAIGON will play a limited engagement through January 14, 2018 before launching a North American tour later in the year.

Commissioned through Virginia Stage Company's American Soil Series, I Sing the Rising Sea is a story of special regional interest written by the coauthor of Frog Kiss, Eric Schorr. In collaboration with ODURep, it tells the sweeping story of sea level rise that flows through generations and across continents - from the shores of Virginia to Japan and Antarctica. Scientists, soldiers, poets, and lovers strive to understand and master the power of the oceans that connect us all.

Children's Theatre Company (CTC) will present Elephant & Piggie's We Are in a Play!, based on Mo Willems' award-winning and beloved book series beginning September 13.

Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc. (DSM), the historic nonprofit presenter of Broadway theatre in North Texas, and Broadway Across America (BAA), the foremost presenter of first-class touring Broadway productions throughout North America, today announced that both organizations will come together to book and secure future Broadway seasons for North Texas, beginning in 2017-2018.

Complete casting has been announced for the new musical NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, featuring the Broadway debuts of 24 cast and creative team members, including Josh Groban* as 'Pierre' and Denee Benton* as 'Natasha.'

Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc. (DSM) announced that it will bestow the title Managing Director Emeritus on three former DSM leaders. Michael Jenkins, as well as the late Tom Hughes and Charles R. Meeker, Jr. represented by their families, will receive the award.

Awash in red velvet and gold fringe, the Music Hall at Fair Park stage appeared ready to drift back to the glory days of 1930's Broadway this week as the cast of 42nd Street moved their dancing feet to the Dallas Summer Musicals leg of their national tour. Originally produced in 1980, 42nd Street quickly became a Broadway classic winning Tony Awards® for Best Musical and Best Choreography under the direction of Gower Champion. Its revival in 2001 was equally well-received with a Tony Award® for Best Revival of a Musical. 42nd Street is the archetypal tale of a small town girl named Peggy (played by Caitlin Ehlinger) achieving her big Broadway dreams by understudying starlet Dorothy Brock (Kaitlin Lawrence) with the grace of a hotshot producer, Julian Marsh (Matthew J. Taylor).

Next week, the national touring cast of 42nd STREET arrives at Dallas Summer Musicals, featuring a cast of 38 accomplished actors, singers and tap dancers. Although many of the touring gypsies currently consider New York City their home base, four of them were raised locally in the Lone Star State, and cannot wait to put on their dancing shoes back home next week. While on a one-week lay off from the tour this week, I caught up with Texas's own Caitin Ehlinger, Matthew J. Taylor, Mandy Modic and Sarah Fagan. The show runs in Dallas from June 28th to July 10th, and at Forth Worth's Bass Hall July 12th-17th.

The national tour of 42nd Street just wrapped up a 3-week run at Hollywood's historic Pantages Theatre.  The cast shows off their dance moves in this ode to JT's "Can't Stop the Feeling" and celebration of summertime!

Once again, the two performing arts groups will come together to co-present four titles, allowing patrons across North Texas ample opportunities to experience the Best of Broadway.

Wednesday night Dallas theatergoers sipped their wine and slipped back to the salacious days of the roaring 20's. The National Tour of Bullets Over Broadway landed for its Dallas premiere June 14th and the audience couldn't have been more welcoming. Written by Woody Allen based on a screenplay by himself and Douglas McGrath, Bullets offers all the bells and whistles of a solid 20's era show-decked out with drop waist dresses, showgirls, booze, and mobsters.

THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS has announced that 62 high school students from across America will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress at the eighth annual awards ceremony. The presentation will take place on Monday, June 27th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan. Tickets can be purchased by visiting NHSMTA.COM or TICKETMASTER.COM and range from $39 to $89. Premium seats are $250.

The 5th Avenue Theatre presents an exciting new 'revisal' of the sweeping saga Lerner & Loewe's PAINT YOUR WAGON. Featuring an all-new book by Pulitzer Prize nominee John Marans, this show has taken an incredible journey over the last five years from developmental workshops to The 5th Avenue stage this season. The national tour of the new musical comedy BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, written by Woody Allen and based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath for the 1994 film, will make its Dallas premiere June 14-26 at the Music Hall at Fair Park presented by Dallas Summer Musicals.
