Resuming its status as an annual event after several seasons as a biennial, the New York Guitar Festival returns in Spring 2017 with cross-cultural concert programming in celebration of works for guitar.

The Yard presents PRIDE, NOT PREJUDICE for a third straight year, this season honoring the memory of the free spirit victims of the Pulse Club tragedy in Orlando, and expanding from The Yard in Chilmark to Featherstone Center for the Arts and the A Gallery in Oak Bluffs. This season, 4 outstanding women artists are featured in the celebration.

Get ready to mix up boundaries with WINTRY MIX, a curated sampler of new works crossing the divides between theater, dance and music. The Bryn Mawr College Performing Arts Series presents two opportunities to witness two different lineups of extraordinary performers this weekend, January 30 and 31 at 8:00 PM at the Hepburn Teaching Theater in Goodhart Hall.

Bryn Mawr College Performing Arts Series to Present WINTRY MIX, 1/30-31

Get ready to mix up boundaries with WINTRY MIX, a curated sampler of new works crossing the divides between theater, dance and music. The Bryn Mawr College Performing Arts Series presents two opportunities to witness two different lineups of extraordinary performers on January 30 and 31 at 8:00 PM at the Hepburn Teaching Theater in Goodhart Hall. Each night features a different headliner joined by an array of other performers and concludes with an audience participation dance party. Most sets will last just twelve minutes, enabling the adventurous artists (and the audience) to take risks.

Nandita Das, Indian Actress and Social Activist, in Person with BETWEEN THE LINES Tonight

Nandita Das, acclaimed actress of Indian cinema and human rights advocate, will appear in person at Museum of the Moving Image for a screening of Between the Lines (2014, 79 mins.), a cinematic adaptation of the 2012 play. Set in contemporary India where educated and affluent couples are caught between modernity and tradition, the film explores the relationship between a husband (Subodh Maskara) and wife (Nandita Das) who are both lawyers who have been married for ten years. They end up arguing on opposite sides of a criminal trial, resulting in the blurring of their personal and professional lives. The battle in the court starts to impact their relationship at home, and they struggle to find a new balance. Between the Lines is directed by Ritesh Manon.

Encompassing a broad spectrum of creative storytelling from indigenous community media to experimental documentaries, the films present a range of cultural perspectives and offer forums for discussion with filmmakers and renowned speakers.
