Danielle Brooks, Tony Award nominee from The Color Purple and co-star of the Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black," will perform in a one-night only reading of James Baldwin's The Amen Corner this Mondayevening, November 28 at 7 pm as part of Classic Stage Company's annual First Look Festival. The delay grants Kecia Lewis 'additional time for memorization of the script and rehearsal,' after taking on the title role earlier this week for Tony winner Tonya Pinkins.

'MOTHER COURAGE' will soon be missing its off-Broadway matriarch. Classic Stage Company's production of Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children began performances on December 9, starring Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins. But now BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Pinkins will be leaving the show on January 5, before its originally slated opening night on January 7. That date will now be postponed as the production's creative team hunts for a replacement.
