THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY Opens 12/30 at Alhambra

Until his untimely death in 1959 at age 23, Buddy Holly changed the way the country heard music. On December 30, back by popular demand, Buddy -- The Buddy Holly Story will play at America's longest running professional dinner theater, the Alhambra Theatre & Dining, giving the Jacksonville market a chance to learn about and celebrate the life of the man who changed music forever.

Alhambra Theatre Opens WHITE CHRISTMAS Tonight

Continuing what has become a long-standing Jacksonville tradition, The Alhambra Theater & Dining is preparing for its annual Christmas show, this year White Christmas. After 19 straight years of showing Christmas Carole, the Alhambra five years ago decided on an every-other-year pattern alternating with a different Christmas Show. Two seasons ago White Christmas was such a big hit, the Alhambra decided to run it again in 2014. White Christmas opens tonight, November 26 and runs through December 24.

Firehouse Theatre Announces Full Cast and Creative Team for A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS

Firehouse Theatre is proud to announce the full cast and creative team working on the next production of its 21st Season, A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration, by Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel. Directed by Dr. Tawnya Pettiford-Wates, this touching family musical will play 14 performances, November 20 - December 20, 2014. Opening night is November 21.

The 48th season for the Alhambra Theatre & Dining promises a diverse nine-show slate with seven shows never before seen at the Alhambra. It will also feature three Broadway and pop culture veterans: Lisa Whelchel, who starred as Blair in NBC's 'Facts of Life,' 80's pop icon Debbie Gibson, and Charles Shaughnessy, who rose to prominence on the CBS hit, 'The Nanny.' Season Packages and individual-show tickets went on sale to the general public on October 1, said Managing Partner Craig Smith. Smith also announced the Alhambra's new website, making access to the Alhambra simpler and more dynamic.

In his previous appearance at the Alhambra as the lead in South Pacific, Christopher Sanders received a standing ovation each night. Tonight, September 10, the dashing singer returns to the Alhambra as Don Quixote in the play inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' seventeenth century masterpiece by the same name. Presented by Brumo's Automotive, Man of LaMancha opens tonight, September 10 and runs through October 12.

Disney XD has ordered a second season of its popular animated series on the Marvel Universe programming block, 'Marvel's Avengers Assemble' and 'Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.' It was announced today by Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television, at San Diego Comic-Con. Produced by Marvel Television, some of Marvel's most popular super heroes – the all-star Avengers and hard-hitting Hulks – will return to take on their most high-stakes battles yet.
