Playwrights Horizons and 92YTribeca have announced that they will present a panel discussion previewing the theater company's new season on Monday evening, September 12 at 7:30 PM at 92YTribeca (200 Hudson Street). Moderated by The New Yorker culture writer Michael Schulman, joined by Playwrights Horizons Artistic Director Tim Sanford, the panel discussion will feature all six writers from the theater company's 2011/2012 Season.

The Gallery Players opens its 45th season with the first New York City revival of The Little Dog Laughed this September. Patrick Vassel (Working, Chicago's Broadway Playhouse; War, Soho Playhouse) directs Douglas Carter Beane's biting showbiz comedy about identity and the desire for celebrity, opening Friday, September 10 at Brooklyn's The Gallery Players.

The Manhattan Theatre Club has announced full casting for the upcoming world premiere of CLOSE UP SPACE by Molly Smith Metzler, directed by Leigh Silverman. Joining the cast is Academy Award & Emmy Award nominee Rosie Perez (Fearless, The Ritz) as famous author 'Vanessa Finn Adams.' Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that due to Hurricane Irene, performances of The Wood, a new play by award-winning filmmaker Dan Klores about the life of New York columnist Mike McAlary, have been delayed. The Wood will now begin performances on Thursday, September 1 at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets). Opening night, previously set for Friday, September 9, will now be Thursday, September 15 at 8pm. David Bar Katz directs.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced today that Vladimir Versailles has joined the cast of The Wood, a new play by award-winning filmmaker Dan Klores about the life of New York columnist Mike McAlary. Mr. Versailles assumes the role of Abner Louima, replacing Gregory Bastien who has left the production.
