Sometimes something or someone comes along in life that changes everything. Such is Starbuck, aka THE RAINMAKER, to the Curry family in Depression era middle America in N. Richard Nash's play 60-year-old play. Yellow Tree Theatre is mounting a lovely new production of this play with an all-star team of YTT regulars and newcomers. It's funny and sweet, hopeful and devastating, a prime example of the beautiful theater that Yellow Tree has been doing for going on seven years, made only richer by the influx of talent from the larger Twin Cities theater scene.

With Sexy Laundry opening tonight, the entire cast roster for the theatre's biggest season is almost complete. Nearly 300 Minnesota artists - including actors, directors, designers and technical operators - will mount 18 productions on two stages. The season lineup confirms Park Square's commitment to the work of women writers like Amy Herzog, Michele Riml and Alice Walker. The casting emphasizes Park Square as a home for local artists of color, from returning favorites like James A. Williams, T. Mychael Rambo and Regina Williams to dozens of debuts like Dominique Wooten, Kurt Kwan and Sarah Ochs.

The three companies in residence at Park Square Theatre for the 2015 season, Sandbox Theatre, Theatre Pro Rata and Girl Friday Productions, today announce their programming for Park Square Theatre's new Andy Boss Thrust Stage for the next year. These partners will bring diverse aesthetic approaches and artistic forms, fresh talent as well as favorite faces to Park Square's seasons over the next three years. May events with Bookworks include two important literary fundraisers.
May 10 is the premier of a new literary series, A Word With Writers, where Bookworks collaborates with the Albuquerque Public Library Foundation to bring two renowned writers to the KiMo Theater. George RR Martin, author of the Game of Thrones series, and Diana Gabaldon, the creator of the Outlander series, will be in conversation discussing their respective popular series. The band Reviva will perform. This evening of entertainment is $7 for general admission and $20 for priority seating and signing, with all proceeds going to the Albuquerque Public Library Foundation.
