Talented young songwriters and writing teams working in any popular music genre are encouraged to apply for a no-fee program presented by The Johnny Mercer Foundation and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University this summer.

WORKING closes March 6, 2011 at the Lohman Theatre at Foothill College in Los Altos.

The revised version of the 1970s musical "Working," that montage of monologues with the Frankenstein score that is usually called "the blue collar 'A Chorus Line'" (though it isn't), opened on Wednesday night in the town that originally birthed it, full of life and emotion and enough Chicago grit, grime and elbow grease to give it another 35 years in the repertoire, and then some.

WORKING celebrates everyday people in a genuinely funny and touching way. Portrayed by some of Chicago's brightest stars including E. Broadway In Chicago and the company of WORKING are pleased to announce their 'Local Heroes' program, created to honor and complement the new musical WORKING, which begins previews February 15, 2011, at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut). The program is designed to pay tribute to Studs Terkel's vision of showcasing everyday people. WORKING will honor Chicago's own through post-show conversations about who they are, what they do in life and how they make a difference. These conversations will include fascinating professions from doctors to firemen, to waitresses, assistants and sanitation workers and professions from every spectrum of our lives along with cast members of WORKING.

Last night, February 14, Town Hall continued its 'Broadway by the Year' series with the Musicals of 1921, licking off the series 90th anniversary season. Written, created and hosted by Scott Siegel, the cast featured Erin Davie (A Little Night Music), Stephen Mo Hanan (Cats) Kevin Earley (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Liz Lark-Brown (2011 Nightlife Award Winner), Tony Award nominees Bobby Steggert (Ragtime), Kate Baldwin (Finian's Rainbow), Jeffry Denman (Drama Desk Nominee, Yank!), Erin Denman (42nd Street), and KendRick Jones (The Scottsboro Boys). Also featured were the 10 'Siegfeld' Follies Girls that will help recreate the look and style of a Broadway that existed 90 years ago, the year when Town Hall, itself, was built.
